We wouldn't want to grow too much, since we might have already been measured for the coffin.

I often wonder if it would be more enlightening to die by being pulled through the gears of a combine or fed through the wood-chipper.

Decisions, decisions.

Can I pick who has to pick up the pieces, as it were?

If the entire question is ultimately about growth - then I have to go with Ark on this one. Food definatly makes me grow.

I'll take "quick & painless."

But Oh God, PLEASE don't let it be while I am nude, in the shower!!!!

With my luck my spirit would still be floating around looking for that bright light, watching all the lights, sirens, cops, paramedics, firefighters, neighbors gathering while I'm laying there in all my glory.

Well, I think we're missing OPTIMAL growth opportunities here. I'd go for the affair, then being served papers, THEN a slow and painful death.

Boy, what a mature and learned person I'd (briefly) be at the end of that.

This reminds me of a scene from the movie The Princess Bride... the one where Wesley is being tortured, his life being sucked away, and the Count is clinically asking him for his reaction, and says something like remember this is for learning purposes (my kids would know the exact line from the movie) LOL

If we die in 15 minutes or we die in 15 yrs, what difference does it make that we learned something inthe 15 yrs - we won't remember it or know we learned it. There is absolutely no proof there is life after death and it looks very unlikely from where I'm standing. Don't you people look around airports and shopping centres? What would be the point of giving us another crack at life, some place else, some other time? We're so mean and ugly for the most part - who in there right mind would want to invite us back? What would be the purpose of that?

This is it folks! Ecc. 9: 5

Hey! I'm not mean OR ugly! Well...wait...those 10 minutes when I'm not quite awake in the morning...oh, and there's those 3 days prior to my period...hmmm, and when the dog dug up my favorite plant. Yup, you're right. My bad...

Ok, whether it be slow and torturous or quick and painless, I hope it involves CHOCOLATE!

Really, everytime I check on this thread, I think

"A sharp stick to the eye or a glorious slow poison."

Of course, one could heal, with one blind eye, and poison...as in the Princess Bride, (watched it 2 nights ago) Wesley had been taking that particular poison he offered to the kidnapper of Princess Buttercup for years, and he had built up an immunity. What killed the kidnapper, didn't affect Wesley a bit.

Nor did the roll down the mountain right after that. And, that plucky Buttercup, she dived right after him, because, she knew him, because he said "As you wish."

Did I digress?

Lor,

My kids have memorized that whole movie too. The poison is iocaine powder....supposedly tasteless and odorless. And the line when Wesley is being tortured is: "I might one day go as high as five, but I really don't know what that would do to you, so let's just start with what we have. What did this do to you? Tell me. And remember, this is for posterity, so... be honest."
