KiwiJ,

Now that it's REALLY the 18th <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="images/icons/tongue.gif" /> I feel comfortable sending well-wishes your way.

I have a colleague who is an Aussie and it always feels weird seeing her log in to work her tomorrow just as I'm ending my yesterday. But this time of year we miss one another by two hours (our time changes swing in opposite directions when we go to daylight savings - it drives me insane).

Oh, I got distracted.
That happens when you get to be 43 years OLD like me <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="images/icons/blush.gif" />

And a half. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Oh, and yes dear we DO read your posts. You are a vital part of this board (IMHO).

50 + 1 day. NOT 51 if you don't mind, Jelly.

I can shamelessly bump this again because it's STILL my birthday in your neck of the woods.

Ahem, the day I need to take jelly with me will be the day I'll give it up for good. Now, Cello, you just keep your young ears covered.

I've booked us into a lovely hotel, with jacuzzi etc <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> Now, keep those eyes and ears covered young man.

I had a wonderful, fantastic day yesterday.

I went for an interview at the university for "Assistant to Head of Department, *****." The interview was a "panel", the prof plus two others. The prof was wearing jeans.

I asked to use the bathroom before my interview and wound my way downstairs to a tiny little room where it was not quite the marble and tile fittings I've been used to in the corporate world. I thought "do I want this job."

Then I met the panel. The job was made for me, it's what I've been looking for FOR EVER. Academia, academics, it was SO cool.

After the interview I met my D and my old lunchgroup from work for lunch and had a lovely time with them.

During lunch my phone went. It was the recruitment agent. She said "They REALLY liked you. They have one more person to see but they made it clear it's just a formality."

Yes, yes, yes!

Recruitment agent also said "Where are you? It's very noisy." LOL

Fingers crossed everyone.

Jenny

PS Why not use the standard of the bathroom fittings as a criteria for deciding if I want a job or not? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> (I don't really)

KY, you did get that the bathrooms were very definitely NOT spectacular didn't you?

I can never tell with your wicked sense of humour. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

And thanks, CW. I've replied to you on the "other" thread as well.

Wicked is a good word for KY. Her new name should be WickedJelly. She steals babies from supermarkets, you know. She told me so herself.

Now, listen here young man, I said you were mature. Stop bumping this thread.

We have mother's day on EXACTLY the same day you do but have Father's Day in September (I think - oops not really sure). I think we follow the English father's day.

We're going to have to do something about that Jelly. She's out of control.

BTW Jelly, sorry about doubting your humour. Everything else you'd said in that sentence was serious and I wasn't sure if I'd done some weird kiwi humour that got lost in the translation.

That is, our humour is very dry. Geez, I've just offended you again. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> Actually, some would say we don't have a sense of humour. (Like the spelling of humour, huh, huh)

Think, Frasier. We loved that here, we "got it" all the time. Oh heck, we loved Friends, we loved Cheers (remember that KY or is that "before your time"), we are currently loving Scrubs.

Jenny

YOU ARE SHAMELESS!!!!

For every happy birthday you squeeze out of somebody after your b-day you add a year in my book. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Do you get the reality shows? I'm a reality junky, yes, I know that is going to ruin my rep as an intelectual, but oh well. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Her weekend was great CP, she posted that she got lucky on another thread. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
