I jog and pace walk these days to clear my mind, I'm up to 4 1/2 miles every couple days. I play with my son and measure how tall my 13 going on 18 yearold daughter has grown.
I also cook, my son calls me Chef-Daddy as opposed to Puff-Daddy so I guess the jogging is helping.

As long as were making a takers list, add in a sauna, one of those jet tubs and a professional massage therapist and I'm there...

We don't have a porch, but we do have a Veranda!
...and now that the scaffolding is gone and the paint is new, the view of downtown is amazing...
If you've ever seen "Spider Baby", you've seen our veranda.

Thank you, Thank you for the Porch! Tonight I'm going to hang out on my deck, or out in the yard. I've been working really hard on building gardens that create privacy in the backyard, and this summer it's paying off. I've also got a goldfish pond, and an urban wildlife natural habitat area. The best is - I've got a tomato ready to pick!!! I've hung up windchimes, pretty lights and lots of candles. Maybe a glass of red wine too? I think it'll be a good night to sit out there and relax, maybe meditate a little or read a fun book.
Kimmy - stop with all the great food! All I've done is eat this week, I can't do it anymore. Unless you're inviting us all over, then I'm on my way! I'll bring the sliced homegrown tomatoes.

Oh I love home grown tomatoes!
I've got tons of blueberries almost ready to pick. Missed all the wild strawberries, birds got to them before me.
Glass of red wine? Don't mind if I do.
As for fun books I just ordered a bunch off of amazon. I have a sister who is into wicca, so I thought that would make for some fun reading, and I really think I need to make some kind of potion to burn in my house, got some negative energy going on I think...cat keeps peeing on the floor. Yuck! (no offense to serious witches out there, but I AM curious)
2long - oh veranda schmanda, you're just showing off... now I have to go get that movie to see what the heck a veranda is. (sounds southern to me)

A veranda is a porch that goes around 2 or more sides of the house.
It's a victorian feature.

Oh...
You mean a "wrap around porch" ... why didn't you just say.
(I love putting those 3 little dots in the middle of my sentences, don't know if there in the right places or not, but they make me feel so savvy, I'm going to keep doing them!)

Well, I don't say "living room" or "bedroom" either. I prefer "family parlor" and "chamber".
We've even got a Garret!

Well aren't you just the haughty, taughtiest!
I'm not even going to ask what a "garret" is, probably the hopper, heh?
Bedroom (chamber) - must be where the word chamberpot came from...or "velcome to my chamber dawling, you look simply mauveless in the candlelight.
Somehow I just can't picture ole 2long talking to his wife that way.
More like - get me a cold one woman and the paper, think I'm going to be on the hopper for awhile tonight...damn taco bell! [ July 29, 2004, 06:14 PM: Message edited by: weaver ]

Nah, I don't talk 2 her like that (I don't use "2s" when I talk, either ), but I don't talk "woman" 2 her either! I'd be killed instantly.
She nailed my head 2 the floor once... ...but I had it coming.

Csue -
I just have to ask, is your name Cathy Sue?
That is my given name but every time I tried to register under that name it wouldn't let me.
Well you don't have to tell me, I'll just think that it is, and that is cool.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000JN2R/102-3499022-2772143?v=glanceedited 2 add: We have a DVD of the movie. Most people can't sit still very long. You have 2 be in2 old low-budget "horror" movies (it isn't all that horrible, not by 2day's standards!) 2 sit through the whole thing. -ol' 2long [ July 29, 2004, 07:10 PM: Message edited by: 2long ]

My porch, at least on weekends overlooks Mission Bay. I sit there and read, sun, and people watch. If I was single, this is definitely the place to be. Some of the most beautiful people in Southern California walk, jog, rollerblade, skateboard and wheelchair right by my deck.
I don't have a porch in my other home but I truly miss my three cats, Columbus,Tuxedo, and Horchata. I haven't seen them in over 4 months and it breaks my heart that they probably wouldn't recognize me any more.

Shul, I love that saying..."Don't rent out too much space in your head for one person" That is perfect!!!! I'm trying so hard to have several renters in my head instead of just my problems with H. Sometimes it's extremely hard to collect the rent from the other people... LOL....but I'm trying.

As for your kitties, I doubt they will forget you. When we got married, I inherited my roomies 2 cats. They lived with us for 10 years. They lived with my GF for only 6 years yet whenever she came to visit (only about 4 times in those 10 years, they remembered her. You could tell by the way they bounced around her. Her H is allergic to cats so she couldn't take them with her when she moved to Hawaii. They loved her more than us. I don't think our pets forget us as easy as we think.
So what are you drinking on your porch? Would like some chips and salsa?

I love a freezing cold Diet Snapple with some homemade salsa. My friend P** makes the best salsa in the world. Combine that with some fresh chips and possibly a side of guacamole and /or refried bean dip and it's like manna from heaven.
