Thanks maddyk, Fraggles and Family matters for again sharing your 'thankful list'...
I know it is HARD for hurting people to think of anything to be thankful for but to think about it and write it down, helps our souls; it really does!
Here is my today list.
1. I am thankful for this morning's gorgeous sunrise...the colors were EXCEPTIONAL.
2. I am thankful for my Bissel 2600 carpet sweeper. (It is a quiet, non-electic sweeper that gets up the kiddie's crumbs, pet hair and lint REALLY GOOD; I love it, it is SO HANDY.)
3. Fresh vegetables from our garden.
4. Feeling genuinely happy inside.
And for those not feeling happy today, I grieve with you...There is a Bible verse that says something like this: "To be happy go lucky around a person whose heart is heavy is as bad as stealing their coat in the winter."

I am thankful for good, hot coffee!
I am thankful for my big, ol', dumb whiney dog who is waiting for me to finish my thankful list so he can go out & relieve himself! Poor puppy!
I am thankful that I start work again next week! Yea!
I am thankful for cooler, sunnier weather here!
I am thankful for my family and that I get to spend a nice weekend with them all together! Doesn't happen too ofter with OD in college now!!
Have a wonderful weekend SG04!!

Nah, thank *you* SG04 for starting this. I think you're right. And this morning sees a smile on my face for seeing this thread first thing.
My list for 9/10/04
-I'm thankful that my son was invited at the last minute to go away for the weekend. Yay!! 3 days with a clean house! -I am thankful for sleeptimers on the television -I am thankful for Stephen King -While I still think my husband is a dork and doing the wrong thing, I am thankful that he makes sure I am okay financially -I am thankful that someone asked me a Calculus question the other day. It made me take out my old Calc book and it's remained next to my computer. Has made me REALLY think about starting school again. I finished to much of it..it's time to finish. I'm thankful that my thinking is moving in that direction.

My list for Sept 11. 2004
-I am thankful that any grief or melancholy that I feel this day is not a PERSONAL grief, but rather a sincere and compassionate one for those whose families were affected by the terrorist act upon the WTC

Thanks maddyk and Finally Learning for posting your 'thankful lists' yesterday.
To anyone that is reading this thread, please take the time and write and share a few things in your life that you are thankful for.
I am just going to list 'one thankful' today and that is to say it has been a little over a year since D day and that terrible ache inside is gone, the one where you can't hardly swallow food... Everything is so much better for H and me, compared to the constant tears of the first 3 months! Forgiveness is WONDERFUL!
So to my hurting MB friends, just believe that you WILL FEEL BETTER as time passes.
Below is an article that I feel may help someone on this Sunday.
*************************************************
Barbara and her husband had reached what seemed to be a dead end in their marriage...Late at night her husband John, unable to sleep, sat on the edge of the bed in the moonlight....Barbara wanted once more to feel love for this man stir inside her, but the feelings would not come.
Neither of them spoke for a long time, then with tears in his voice John asked, "Just tell me one thing, do you love me at all anymore?"
Barbara thought back to the definition of love given in 1 Corinthians 13 and reminded herself that love was not as much what she felt as it was what she was willing to do...She did not at that moment feel love inside herself but she was willing to love..
On that basis she answered in honesty, "YES, JOHN, I LOVE YOU" There were no lightning flashes nor rushes of tenderness, but those five words marked the turning point for their relationship......Today Barbara and John are more in love than they were six months after their wedding."
"From the book "Love Around the House" by Elizabeth Baker

1. I am thankful my old cat Cloudy-Ann is still alive 7 months after the vet said she had about 2 weeks to live.
2. I am thankful for my H persisting last night until I forgot how tired I was and I became "interested".
3. I am thankful for the small air conditioner my H installed in my home office so I can sit in polar climate while the remainder of the house is "normal".
4. I am thankful our son is sober, happy, and is out and about seeing the world from the "big picture" instead of from his tiny corner of life.
5. I am thankful our home equity recently increased by huge leaps.

Good Morning Marriage Board Friends. I don't want to come off here as a 'pollyanna' with this thread.
I just hope it gives you something 'positive' to think about throughout the day: What can I post on the 'thankful list'?
Thanks Pepperband, maddyk and atruheart for posting your thankful thoughts yesterday...I look forward to reading everyones messages.
1. I am thankful for going for walks with H while grandma watches the little ones.
2. I am thankful for lots of little things like: denim jeans, fragrant bubble baths, lipstick, flip-flops, ice cream cones, fingernail clippers, barrets & scrunchies for the girls hair, occasssional rainbows, childrens videos, that is just a few...I could fill PAGES.
3. Please share some of your thankful things.
I read almost all the messages on this MB and my heart aches for all the hurting people here...Please remember that in time, just as after someone we loves dies, YOU WILL FEEL BETTER.
That is a promise from God that "This too shall pass."

Well today I am thankful for cigarettes, yes that's right cigarettes and I am going to be smoking them today.
I am having the most miserable day at work.
What I am not thankful for is the over-inflated, pompous, self-important treasurer upstairs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="images/icons/mad.gif" />
Now where is that lighter.
Sorry - best I can do today.

I am thankful I never started smoking. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
I am thankful my H, ST, stopped smoking years ago. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
Enough picking on Weaver, and her nasty smoking.
I'm thankful for my happy home. Six months ago my life was a mess, now it is looking better everyday.
I'm thankful for my DH, who has forgiven me. I'm thankful for his unconditional love.
I'm thankful for my almost 3 year old, who makes me smile, with every word he says.
I'm thankful I have such a sweet and caring almost 8 year old, what a gentlemen he is.
I'm thankful I have my life back.
I'm thankful for MB friends who have helped me get there.

Sept 13's
I'm not in a very good mood today for some reason and wasn't going to post. But I guess it's really a good idea to try.
-So, I'm thankful that I'm making myself post about things to be thankful for even though I'm not feelign particularly thankful today -I'm thankful I got off my butt this morning to go job hunting -I'm thankful I had a nice chat via an online game with my husband yesterday -I'm thankful that I was in a good mood yesterday because I had kinda forgotten what it felt like and I'm TRYING to keep that feeling going today (not much luck, but I'm TRYING)
