Good Morning, all -

Much to say...where to start?

First, on my trip to the pound, I met this really cute little black dog, kind of like a terrier. He's really nice and I liked him, but I wanted to wait until I checked on the Schnauzer before decding.

So, I called about the M/S last night. The lady that has him is with one of those rescue organizations and they got him from the pound. He was picked up wondering a neighborhood with no ID and no one claimed him. She tells me that he doesn't do well with kids (okay with me), loves to just lay on the sofa, and is very quiet (a rare Schnauzer, if that's true). She sent me a picture of him and he is adorable. I have an appointment to go see him Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. She said she would hold him for me because it sounds like we're right for each other. I can hardly wait. If anyone can tell me how to post a picture on the site, I will post the picture of him.

SHMI - Thanks for taking the time to help with my search, if this one doesn't work out, I'll check that out.

Melody - Wish I had of gotten to you sooner, I'd loved to have had one/both of them. I know you must miss them. They are all so sweet and smart.

Okay, here's what I'm going to do. If I get him (and I'm 99% sure I will), I'm going to hold a "name FGG's dog" contest here on MB. I will accept submissions from anyone reading my thread.

(disclaimer(s): all submissions become the property of FGG. Actual cash value 1/10 cents.
Void where prohibited by law. Family of MB employees are not eligible. All rebates to dealer. Subject to credit approval. FGG reserves the right to reject all submissions if he doesn't find any of them acceptable).

On more serious stuff...thanks Coach for your words of encouragement. You definitely have her pegged on the "poor me" thing, I think she is definitely feeling that no one understands her, how can "we" all do this to her, etc. But...we'll just have to see what happens. I've got a BIG bottle of Lexapro.

Okay, that's all for now.

Any advice on how to post a pix?

You are doing so wonderfully! It's a treat to be company to your continued progress. You're in line for becoming the PLAN B IDOL! (as in the popular show, American Idol)

I agree with Coach. Continue to build up your reserves for what is to come....whatever IT maybe..

hmmm ... "doesn't do well with kids". Does that mean he's afraid of them or that he bites them?

And, what color is he?! We don't want to name a brown dog "Coalfire".

We picked up a dog from the Humane Society last year (ended up taking her back - was a great dog, but a 50 pounder was too much for us in the house).

She came to us under the name "Victory" and we used that name. I think it was a great name - and maybe fitting for your situation and goals.

Our 4yo still says "Let's go buy a Victory dog, OK?". (Breaks my heart to hear my DD ask for something that obviously would be good for her, but really the dog was too much for us.)

I've e-mailed the Faith1Again with the picture attached and asked that it be inserted on the MB Photo thread link. I'll post when this is done so you can all see him.

I've asked #1S/DIL if they would like to go to Atlanta with me Sunday to see / get him. I hope they can go, that would be a good "family" trip.

Also, he has suggested the name "Jack" (for Jack Bower - from "24").

So far, suggestions are:

Jack - (#1SIL)
Victory - (AD)

BTW - AD, I don't know what "not good with chilren" really means. His color is a very light salt & pepper.

GG,
You said that you have certain bills that are taken out of your account. Can you have that stopped so that way she doesn't spend the money? or save it

I hope your appointment for the dog goes well!

I would expect a name like this from someone who fly fishes.

And BTW, this is all in fun, I would fly fish also, but my casting technique has been compared to "an old lady fighting off a bee with a broom handle."

Do we get more than one chance at this name contest?

FGG,

Nice looking dog, but now that I've seem 'im, I think he needs a more subtle name than "Victory".

Actually, I had a look around the photos and ... well, he looks a lot like 2long. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

So, I suggest you call him "Dr. Astro"... or "Astroid".

Hmmm I kinda like "Astroid". Maybe I'll use that one on my own next dog.

Okay, folks....my "soon to be dog" is on the MB Photo Thread. Assuming (maybe way too soon) that this will be my dog on Sunday, I am now accepting entries for names.

So far:

Jack - (#1SIL)
Victory - (AD)
2Long - (AD)
Giblet Gravy - (Gimble)

(You can submit as many entries as you want).

I don't think I can wait until Sunday, I want him NOW !!!

Enchanted - I've been trying to get them stopped, but some take longer than others (such asw utility bills, etc). I've got an appt with my attorney next Wednesday to discuss these financial issues to see if there is anything I should be doing any differently. Ex.: She hardly earns enough to live on, should I continue to just send her some money (via the joint account) to keep her from slipping into "poverty" during he D process? I don't want it to appear as though I've "abandoned" her, which is something she's already told me she has talked to her lawyer about. My lawyer also brought it up, and told me to make sure I keep paying household bills.

Okay, back to frivolity. I'm getting ready to leave...I feel terrible today with a full-fledged cold (not just from paint fumes).

Hopefully, when you hear from me again, I will have Jack / Victory / Giblet / or ???

Have a nice weekend, all -

Georgia

Ok, with that beard, I say either

Gimli (if he's cranky)

or

Gandalf (if he's wise and stern),

or

Charlie Daniels.

He looks so sad, like he is lonely.

I'm sorry, I didn't catch if he was male or female, I'll assume male beacuse of the "he"s I', reading.

How about GeorGie (to take a part of your MB name)
Or if a girl, GiGi?

GG,

I took a look at his picture - what a cutie. You will be in my neck of the woods this weekend though I don't live in the ATL just "may retta" (marietta the proper spelling). That's a long drive (I am under the impression that you live on the GA coast). I hope he is as cute in person. I won't be much help with names we have a fish named fish and two mutts called Sam and Midnight and last but not least a kitten that was hideykitty but is now KitKat. Nothing original.

You could call him 2long, but not for two long.

Zeus -

Alamo

Reggie - Reg is easly to say.

Max - also easy to say.

Buddy, because he will be

Ace

Mac - also easy, and it fits his breed.

Hope you have a good weekend, see you later.
