Update on shed/barn raising: I'm tired, my hands are dried out and I'm only about 1/3 of the way done. Long story short, it always takes me longer to do these home projects than what I estimate (as for estimating work projects at work? I'm pretty good at those).
2 cents: I just wanted to put my two cents in on why this thread should stay. Originally, when I came to MB, I got a lot of good advice from Pep, and others. Thanks!
I remember reading the original Jelly thread and thinking that's the stupidest thread ever. Part of my reasoning for that was that I didn't have time to read all the posts (as I was busy reading other posts - because I needed to learn my MB principals). But then there was a big blow up (between FWS and FS). The pain was too much for me so I swore off MB for some time.
Well, MB is addictive and I was soon back lurking. And probably the biggest reason I joined this thread was to follow NCWalker. He came, he posted, we all enjoyed him. He helped a lot of people. (As an aside, I wish that there was some way that I could help him, but it's been a couple weeks since I've heard from him-hope they're ok). But because I did come here, I got to "meet" several people (KY/ST/NG/YL/Robby/Starz & others) that I might not otherwise and got reaquainted with others (Jen/Believer/etc).
There have been days when I've been depressed and Kimmy or Jelly will say something to cheer me up. This thread doesn't have the pressure of some of the other threads (because we don't want it). In some ways it is like a chat room, but in other ways it is better because where would everyone be when Jen is logged in on the otherside of the world. Our words are there for her to see & vice versa.
