Hi Jen and FA-A,
How are ya? I have to jump off for a while so DD can play on disneychannel.com. They have this paper doll type game that she loves.
Talk to you later!

Hi Aussie, please don't start Robby off on NASCAR, it's one of his favourite things in the whole world.
How's AW? She hasn't been in Idiotville for a while. BTW she told some great stories about YOU about 4000 posts ago!

You reckon she's a dobber after that story you told last night?
That's when we found out about the roo tail hanging on the line. I wish I could remember the others.
Aussie, is she ok? Are you ok?

Aha, we talk in a strange, foreign language down here, south of the Equator.
A dobber is a squealer. Or is that British? Trying to dredge up my best Sopranos, Colombo talk here. Someone who spills the beans to authority.

FF, if Aussie and I really got going you wouldn't understand a word we were saying.
In my normal "real" life I speak perfectly good, grammatical, mostly "American" English but there's something about Aussie that brings out the larrikin in me.
And a larrikin is an Aussie/Kiwi term for a redneck. LOL.

Oh forgot to tell you how she is.
well manic is a good description....... stopped her watching the tidal wave thing because of the triggers when the little 6 month old Perth boy was swept away from his mums arms.
So shes been gardening washing, digging, cleaning, until I stopped her, now shes watering... I'll take her shopping soon to get her mind off things.

I tell you I used to come to work crying every morning during my last pregnancy until the woman I worked with told me to stop watching the news and reading the paper! LOL she couldn't stand it anymore

FF, that happened to me as well. I'll always remember when I was pregnant with my son and there was a news item about these orphaned orang utang babies and they had put them in stretch baby suits and they were on the news.
I cried buckets and buckets and buckets. It was terrible. I can sort of laugh about it now but it was so upsetting at the time.
We've just been watching the news on the tsunami and I defy anyone, not just pregnant women, not to cry watching that. It's almost too much to take in.

HI guys and girls.
., I'm assuming you have heard from tt?!?!? How is she? No news from anyname, huh? I really thought there was another MB'er--can't think of the name.
Can't really get into MB tonight. I just hope and pray that everyone--EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THIS EARTH does not take life for granted. And the stupidity of little miniscule unimportant things. LIFE. LOVE. LIVE!
I've been in a funk all week...and I finally figured it out...(duh)...the impact of this has just, I can't even describe it. Maybe, mourning. Maybe, reflective. Maybe just sorrowful. Probably a combination, and then some. Maybe I'm just getting my period. (Hey, I'm still in I-ville, right?) And then I read about all of the ****ing stupidity on this site. The stupidity of affairs in general.
I read myrta and stan's "dillemma". You want a dillemma? How about the mother who had the "choice" of letting go of one of her kids to sure death--one was a 5 month old and the other a 2 year old (I think.) The Good Lord had an angel sccop up the 5-year old. And what about *THOSE* scars? The decision will be replayed daily, probably by the minute, in that mother's mind. And the 5-year old? Why did Mommy let go of me? And so it goes...I guess pain is pain, huh?
And amongst the 80,000...there's probably twofold of these decisions we will never know about.
Last time I cried like this was 9/11.
Sorry idiots, just had to get this out. Thanks, once again. Makes my question I was going to ask seem ****ing stupid. I'll save it for a different time.
LINY

Thanks guys for teh suggestion, I guess he mounting loss of so many poeple is very hard to accept isn't it. Well we have had it hit close to home as well. Our neighbours come from Aceh in Indonesia and they returned there with their 13 yr old son who my son mentored this year in high school, young Brendon. The grand parents who live with then have just told us they cannot contact them at all. No one in Indonesia can and they are listed as missing. Thy asked us if we could have our phone listed as a contact number so I said yes. Its 6.53pm here right now and no contact since Boxing Day... thats not good.
So we are cooking for their family right now and I'll do some fried rice - they taught me - its quick and simple and the least I can do.
Hits AW more than ever because of Peter but she isnt crying now just hoping the family are ok.

FAA: Sorry to confuse you with that ending. I wasn't sure how to write it, so I tried saying it outloud and then spelling it. It still didn't seem right, but that's what I went with. Oh well, guess I'm an idiot. [ December 30, 2004, 06:36 AM: Message edited by: Recovering H ]

That would suck to high he//. And even worse is all those dead are like "frozen" in the awful position of running or trying to get away. I've never seen so many dead with their arms out or up and their legs bent. It's sickening.
On a side note, I heard this one organization yesterday was saying that this is getting more press than the number one killer over there...malaria. Supposedly, some environmental group has been fighting the governments for years about spraying to ward off malaria and now it supposedly going to get even worse. God help those people.
