pepper,

I understand where you are coming from.

What I was asking for was what I got, which is help. I was not asking for a cure. Just what to do. I saw myself more as self medicating, as my doctor has. Perhaps I need to seek AA and never have another drink again. This all crept up on me, forgive me if I have been innappropriate, that was not my intent.

You don't even know how hard this was for me to start my own thread and say I needed opinions. Am still trying to figure out what to do.

Am sober 2 days now, no shakes, no withdrawls.

I have seen several posts here where BS's, WS's were having problems in this area, and a lot of good advice, replies etc.

Thanks 3, I DO stuff it.
Love you 2,

Love in Christ,
Miss M

MissM -

Like everyone here says, check out AA.

Years ago I started drinking to self-medicate, or because I am an alcolic - who knows? What helped me most was reading about the 12-step program. It starts with realizing that you are out of control, and knowing that your higher power (who to me is Jesus Christ) can take the desire away.

I prayed about it and one day, just had no desire to drink anymore. I stayed clean and sober for 20 years.

Give it a try, it works.

You're never going to believe this but I decided not to drink anymore wine to after this thread, and after going on and on to you about it. I thought good grief this is just plain stupid, drinking everyday like this.

So I am two days on the wagon too

And I just want to voice my opinion here some more, all though AA has a very high success rate it does not fit everybody. Their are other avenues available to help someone quit drinking. And since Miss M specifically said she didn't want to go to AA, I did not bring it up.

Not everyone who drinks every day is an alcoholic, however alcohol is a serious depressant, alcoholic or not - so it is easy to get into a very bad rut once you start drinking every day.

Hang tough Miss M!

Hey,

Thank you everyone for your responses.

First of all, weaver:
You go girl! I am so proud of you! If I could touch someone with any of my post, then I am blessed. Keep on keeping on. And I thank you for understanding that I am NOT a group person. Thank you for respecting that. I wish you luck. My email address is below in my response to WillGet ThruThis.email me if you like. You are worthy, You are great and in my prayers. Thank you SO much again for seeing who I am.

To Pepperband:
You know, I never come up with the right respsonses until 2 days after I see something, I am a deer in the headlights. Thank you for your response and caring about me.

All I have to say is I am at the ice cream shop, asking for directions to the hardware store!! Love and respect to you from me.

3,
you know my heart. I stuffstuffstuff. If I try to approach my H about something that might still be bothering me about the A, and you and only YOU know how ugly it was, he gets mad, yells, after 4 YEARS! And everyone might tell me how I am not over it, but I would, at some point in life, like to have a calm conversation about all of this, all the anger on my WS part. I just feel if we could get to this point it would be HUGE for recovery. It just might be complete. So what is up with that. Well, it is a bit better, but I still Bite MY Tongue. LOL. 3, you know where I am. And I appreciate that, and YOU.

Lost Husband,
thank you for your reply. It meant a lot to me. I am glad you are sober and doing so well in your recovery.

Thank you all. Thank you TO4T. You DO understand. You are a wonderful person that you would care about little ol' me

WTGTThis:

My email is Ayers8853@aol.com. I did not see your email addy (if you put it in) as I have odd hours due to my job. Note my time of post. Either early am or late pm. I want to hear more. Thank you for caring.
