It is easier to find new employment if your previous employer did not fire you.

Perhaps you can still use them as a reference?

OK. got it. References? That remains to be seen. The issue may get legal and that will determine how we part ways. I heard the president of our university met with my former supervisor and VP. Things could get interesting.

They may have violated my rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act. I'm under treatment for Depression and Adjustment Disorder. A transfer like that was judged to be an exacerbating situation that could worsen both conditions. Secondly they violated my medical privacy (HIPA violation) by requesting detailed information to corroberate my attendence patterns. Thirdly they amy not have properly addressed my medical leave, per the Family Medical Leave Act.

Bottom line: A federal suit is possible. The university is gearing up for a response and getting all of their stories together. Me? I'm praying...

If you quit, you're not eligible for unemployment benefits.

HIPA violations are very severe. If they did that, the fines are potentially huge.

Well, that DOES put a different spin on things.

Have you secured an attorney who specializes in buisiness law?

DLC, I hope you can see the humor in this...

Did you get a load of this guy Kerik they were going to appoint head of DHS?

My heavens, the place would have been crawling with family-busting scoundrels.

Funny! Scoundrels everywhere! DLC, I saw your other threads. A government-funded Affair? That OM had/ has some nerve.

Greetings Brother,

My "handle" is DLee. My name is Dennis and my story is in the "in recovery" slot under the title "Any hope left after wife's 14 year affair?"

I want to encourage you. I haven't read everything on this thread but I have to say that first page is incredible in it's apparent ferocity aimed at the very person you are. I am a Christian (no apologies) and I have been clinging to Romans 8:28 "For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose."

When I first started reading this verse and trying to wrap my heart around it I often felt lost. How could this possibly work for "good"? It does fit the description of "all things". And how could this "work together for good"? The rest of the verse fits us because "we love God" and those who love God are by the fact that they love Him are "called according to His purpose." So I prayed and journaled and prayed and cried and hit things and journaled and finally "it" hit me. First - the last chapter in this journey called life has yet to be written. Who was I to say it had to fit my "alloted time"? God is outside of time. He's already in the future and He alone knows the "how" it will work for good. Second - His purpose for my life probably isn't my purpose for my life. I want to be happy. He wants me to be Holy. He gave us the perfect example in Jesus. I was beginning to feel like Job when God said to him "who is this who darkens my council with words without knowledge"? Remember how EVERYTHING was taken from Job in the beginning but MUCH MUCH MORE WAS HEAPED AS A BLESSING ON HIM AT THE END OF THE STORY? He was faithful, and God was faithful. Enough of my preaching.

I just want you to know that although I don't know you, I care. I will pray for you along with another who I am praying for for the next week twice a day.

You have been battered terribly, but please don't allow it to harden you. Please don't let the lies, the cheating, this lousey season in your life define who you will become. You are loved. You are loved by those of us who have been hated for no reason or for our faith. The the greatest Lover ever still desires your love to Him.

Seek peace. Think positive thoughts. Love your children, but mostly, love yourself because you are worthy to be loved. If you were the only person on earth, God would have still sent His only Son to die for you so that you might live forever in Paradise.

God Bless You Brother....

Hello friend,

This is the "in recovery" DLee again. I've done some more reading on this thread and my spirit is moved to offer whatever support I can.

My W's A's lasted a little over 14 years with the same OM. He's married and has 4 children and is a class A+ jerk. He's scared to death of me. I pounded him pretty good on the first DDay in the parking lot where he and my W worked at the time. I broke his nose and broke 2 bones in my right hand on his forehead. (The only time I've ever been violent since grade school).

I just want to say to you that it will get better. Not long ago I wouldn't have made that statement but it's true. From what I've read you're a person who knows Truth and the Giver of life and Creator of love. He will never leave you. Jeremiah 29:11-13 is in my top 4 or 5 verses where God promises to hear us when we pray. Please don't discount the power of prayer, God hears them all. It blows me away to know that He loves a dope like me but he does and when I am still and at peace I can feel His love and His Amazing Grace.

I'll quit preaching but I want you to know that although I don't even know your name we will meet one day in Paradise where there is no sadness and there are no tears. You are loved brother. It will get better. Yes, there are other "fish" in the "sea", but heal first. Throw your love into your children. Make it a goal to be the best dad ever. I have always found that I get so much more from helping someone or giving of myself than I do when I am on the receiving end of help. Give , give, and then give some more. You will receive so very much by giving of yourself.

I have faith in you. My W and I will keep praying morning and night for a week. You are loved. People you don't even know love you. And you are worthy of that love and you are worthy of being the best dad to those two beautiful that God has given you. They need you. Be there for them when you can.

God Bless You,

DLee (Dennis in Maryland, USA)
