hey ark!

that was THEE silly love song I WASN'T going 2 quote here!

Speaking of silly love songs, here's one:

"Silly Love" - 10cc

"Hey toots, you put the life into living
You brought a sigh into sight
Ah hon, you make my legs turn to water
You bring the stars out at night
But they ain't half so bright
As your eyes

Gee whiz, you take the beauty out of beautiful
You play the strings of my heart
Oh babe, you take the wonder out of wonderful
Oh my, oh my, and my, if you were mine
The rain would turn to sweet sweet wine

Well he's been up all night
Breakin' his head in two to write
A little sonnet for his chickadee
But between you and me
I think its sssssssssssilly. Silly

Ooh treas, you got a smile like a Rembrandt
Aha, you got the style of a queen
Oh dear, you are the petal of a rosebud
Next to you all the others could be weeds
You're the only one my garden needs

Ooh, you know the art of conversation
Must be dying
Ooh, when a romance depends on
Cliches and toupees and threepes

We're up to here with moonin' and junin'
If you want to sound sincere -
Don't rely on Crosby's croonin' -
Take a little time
Make up your own rhyme
Don't rely on mine
`Cos it's sssssssssilly - silly - silly - silly"

by DR. HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You make my pants wanna get up and dance
You make my face wanna grin
You make my knees wanna kneel down say please
Honey, won't you kiss me again

You make my pants wanna get up and dance
You make my face wanna grin
You make my knees wanna kneel down say please
Honey, won't you kiss me again

I was a lost and lonely man
Now I get through life the best I can
'Til the day I laid my eye on you
That day I decided what I had to do

You make my pants wanna get up and dance
You make my face wanna grin
You make my knees wanna kneel down say please
Honey, won't you kiss me again

Start the music strike up the band
I never done the boogie but I believe I can
Never met a girl half as sweet as you
Nobody's ever moved half the moves you do

You make my pants wanna get up and dance
You make my face wanna grin
You make my knees wanna kneel down say please
Honey, won't you kiss me again

You make my pants wanna get up and dance
You make my face wanna grin
You make my knees wanna kneel down say please
Honey, won't you kiss me again

"Wowie Zowie" - Frank Zappa

"Wowie zowie
Your love’s a treat
Wowie zowie
You can’t be beat
Wowie zowie, baby
You’re so neat
I don’t even care
If you shave your legs

Wowie zowie, baby
You’re so fine
Wowie zowie, baby
Please be mine
Wowie zowie
Up and down my spine
I don’t even care
If you brush your teeth

I dream of you each mornin’
I dream of you each night
Just the other day I got so shook up
I dreamed of you in the afternoon

Baum didi, baum didi, baum didi,
Baum didi, baum didi, baum didi

I dream of you each mornin’
I dream of you each night
Just the other day I got so shook up
I had a flash in the afternoon

Wowie zowie, baby
Love me do
Wowie zowie
And I’ll love you too
Wowie zowie, baby
I’ll be true
I don’t even care
If your dad’s the heat

Wowie zowie
Wowie
Wowie zowie
Wowie
Wowie zowie
Wowie
Wowie zowie
(etc.)"

Was going to post Sugar, Sugar by the Archies but this is a little more fitting for me tonight.

Feeling a little sad. Not cus of the ex, but because of my parents death I think. Christmas you know, makes us sad for all the people we have lost. Of course this song doesn't remind me of my parents or anything but it makes me sad, so it is fitting.

November Rain

When I look into your eyes
I can see a love restrained
But darlin' when I hold you
Don't you know I feel the same

'Cause nothin' lasts forever
And we both know hearts can change
And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain

We've been through this auch a long long time
Just tryin' to kill the pain

But lovers always come and lovers always go
An no one's really sure who's lettin' go today
Walking away

If we could take the time
to lay it on the line
I could rest my head
Just knowin' that you were mine
All mine
So if you want to love me
then darlin' don't refrain
Or I'll just end up walkin'
In the cold November rain

Do you need some time...on your own
Do you need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...
on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone

I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

Sometimes I need some time...on my
own
Sometimes I need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...
on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone

And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain
I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame
So never mind the darkness
We still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain

Don't ya think that you need somebody
Don't ya think that you need someone
Everybody needs somebody
You're not the only one
You're not the only one

Wait a minute.......A little sad, but fine.

I'll give you this one, but next time, I am going to grill you about your feelings. You can't get away with it this easy all the time.

You can still talk more if you want.

...do they still believe that aluminum has anything 2 do with alzheimers?

I read the report of a study by the Mao Clinic. The short version is that in every case, the peson's body started to collect aluminum AFTER they contracted anzheimers. They don't know why, but the aluminum concentrations come after, and are a by product of the illness, not a cause.

I still think glass is better.

Glass, yes. With one of the 6 flavors of Dr Pepper in it!

"In My First Mind" - Steve Miller Band

"Singing a song of love
Growing each day
Knowing how it's been
Living for today
I wanted to love you, babe
I swear I do know how
To go back is pointless
Understand this now

Our time, it hasn't been too long [there's ol' 2long!]
It all seems to drift away
No more the past
It's the future
That I'm living for today
And if it's not getting you
Where you need to go
There's still a place in my heart
If you did not know this is so

In my first mind
You are so fine
All the good things you do
Are in my own time

In my second mind
I can see you grow
Feel you flow
It moves my soul, yeah"

I didn't think there was anyone alive that remembered Fireball XL5.

Where in the world did you come up with that?

I like love songs, don't like cheatin songs, don't like whoa always me songs...LOVE Kid Rock

(this is for the one that let me get away, LOL)

"Lonely Road Of Faith"

Up and down that lonely road of faith
I have been there
Unprepared for the storms and the tides that rise
I've realized one thing, how much I love you
And it hurts to see, see you cryin'
I believe we can make it through the winds of change

God is great indeed
If you believe, in the everlife
Yeah we gotta
Make some sense of the piece that's not defined
And if you just hold on, I wont let ya fall
We can make it through the storms and the winds of change

Though I walk through the valley of darkness
I am not afraid
Cause I know I'm not alone

And if the wind blows east, would you follow me
And if the wind blows north, would ya stay your course
And if the wind blows west, would ya second guess
And if it blows to the south, would you count me out
And if the sun don't shine, would you still be mine
And if the sky turns grey, would you walk away
Would you say I do, if I say I'll be
And walk this road through life with me
You know I love youuuuuu

On this lonely road of faith
On this lonely road of faith

No, that wasn't me!

I lived most of my life in Tulsa, and moved to New Mexico almost 15 years ago.

I still miss it there, wheather & all!! It is more peaceful to not worry about tornados; however when we visited last May my sister woke up the household to take shelter. Her house was in the path of a tornado, but it veered south of us after all! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeekkk!!

I loved Oklahoma, just loved it. The people were among the best I have ever met.

I worked at Pickers Club, and when we would have a tornado warning, or the weather would get all spooky like it does right before a tornado the people in the bar would start acting really, really freaky. Strange how affected we all are by the weather.

I bet New Mexico is nice too.

Talk to you later Csue, I have so much to do to get ready for Christmas Eve I just have to get off of this dang thing.

I loved Oklahoma 2! The musical, that is. Or was that South Pacific?

Speaking of Oklahoma, and since this is a song thread (or is that thraid!?), remember my rewrite of "Poor Judd is Daid" back 2 years ago when Qfwfq killed me off?

2long is daid! (sung 2 the 2ne of 'Poor Jud is Daid')

2long is daid, ol' 2long is daid;
All gather round his coffin now and cry.
He had a heart of gold and he wasn't very old,
Oh, why did such a fella have 2 die?

2long is daid, ol' 2long is daid;
He's lookin' oh, so peaceful and serene (and serene!).
Hes all laid out 2 rest with his hands across his chest;
His fingernails have never been so clean.

Why then the preacher'd get up and he'd say:
Folks, we're gathered 2gether here 2day 2 moan and groan over brother 2long, who hung himself from that 2x4 in the rafters of the MB smokehouse.
(Then there'd be weepin' and wailin', from some of the MB posters)
Then hed say:
2long was the most misunders2d man on the 4um. People used 2 think he was a mean, ugly fella; used 2 think he was a dirty skunk and orn'ry pig stealer.

But the folks who really knowed him, know that beneath the 2 gaudy Converse All-Stars that he always wore,
There throbbed a stubbed big toe as big as all outdoors (as big as all outdoors!).
2long loved his fellow Mb'er.

He loved the birds of the forest,
He loved the beasts in the field,
He loved the mice and vermin and he treated the rats like equal (which was right).
He loved everybody and everything, he loved the OP only - only he never let on, so nobody ever knowed it.

2long is daid, ol' 2long is daid;
His friends'll weep and wail for miles around (miles around!).
The daisies in the dell will give out a different smell
Because 2long is underneath the ground.

2long is daid, a candle lights his haid.
He's layin' in a coffin made of wood (wood!).
And folks are feelin' sad cause they used 2 treat him bad,
But now they know their friend is gone for good (good!).

2long is daid, a candle lights his haid.
He's lookin' oh, s'purdy and s'nice.
He looks like he's asleep, it's a shame that he won't keep,
But it's summer and were runnin' out of ice.
2 - long
2 - long

Only THIS time, I ain't lettin' Q get away with it!
