All I know is from my oldest son who was in prison for 6 years, starting at the age of 18. He was sentenced for attempted murder, even tho he was trying to save the life of a minor. Anyhoo.

My son says the persons that are most sought after by other prisoners(too be eliminated}are the:

Rapists
Children murderers

So Mr Scott Pederson falls into these catagories.

My son says these people are protected because they are targeted by other prisoners as the 'worst'.

Hey, what goes around comes around. If they put Mr. Peterson in general population, he will not last very long. So he will be protected if he has life without parol.

But that is not always bad. I would be real happy to pay with my taxes, to have someone dwell on what they have done and what the consequenses are for however long the law would allow.

It is all too sad, and there is really NO justice for this mother and unborn son. <img border="0" alt="[Teary]" title="" src="graemlins/teary.gif" />

However, I believe that there is a God, and that Laacy and Connor are with the Lord now.

In 1998, it cost the state of California over $25,000 per inmate per year. Not so much of a load of crap when you start multiplying the numbers!

Still could never be black or white with the death penalty. Only in extreme cases. Not sure if this is one. A horrid, dispicable reason for a human, but not so sure if he fits in the Manson category.

I'm outside the US and only recently saw the final coverage of this trial. Personally, I don't have a problem with the death penalty, if it's conclusive that the person is guilty. But this guy Peterson? He's nice looking and he's got a brain (albeit a nasty one). I'd rather him stay alive in confinement because he will suffer far more alive than dead. Much harsher than a peaceful slumper for eternity. He'll have a lota time to think and discover reality. It won't be nice for him when he wakes up and realises what he did for so little. And he will wake up. He might manage a few years of continued self delusion, but monotony and insitutional life will eventually wear him down and he'll work it out that vanity drove him to murder his immortality (his innocent child). When he is old, he will cry like a baby over his shame.

ANYNAME----I disagree with you, I think he deserves DEATH!!!! Even if he spends his whole life plus another one in jail, he will never have remorse, since he does not have a "concious" He is completely evil.

If they keep in jail, he will "pretend" to be rehabilitated and fool the world that he is this new man, but inside he will still be the same.

He is a DISGUSTING human being, if he can be called that!!!

At least he has a life, for now anyway, Lacey and Connor never had a choice or a right to appeal... May God have mercy on his soul.

I was listening to a local talk show the other day and Scott Peterson has it better now than if he were sent to prison for life.

Because of his sentence he has access to a computer and a library for research. He also has access to his lawyers and family I believe. Also, all the appeals... As his time runs out the courts are going to look at his case with even more scrutiny because, in their view, a person's life is on the line.

If he were sentenced to life in prison he would be in his cell 23 out of 24 hours. He would have a choice of a tv or radio and he wouldn't be as protected from other inmates. Also, like someone said earlier, he killed not only his wife but his child. The prison population doesn't take too well to that. He probably would have been killed within the first 5 years of his sentence...

Mr. Peterson better take a good look at a bible while he has access to that library. What he has faced in this life will not compair to the punishment he will receive if he doesn't repent.

The justice system - ANY justice system - wrongly convicts people, and it always will. It has to. There is no avoiding it. This is a fact.
