Has anyone else noticed that some new members have higher membership numbers than the newest member listed on the counter????

Today's new member maggielovesdon has a membership number # 39984

BUT

mindsink's number is greater than that ---> 39996

and katie mae's number is right next to his ---> 39995

and there was another similar poster earlier whose name I forgot who was involved in an active affair with her pastor.... her number was also larger than the newest member listed on the first page of the message board welcome.

I have asked JustUss to look into the strange membership numbers and see if the counter is going backwards or something !!!

Very curious.

Anyone else notice this???

I didn't notice the discrepancy, BUT, yesterday I saw a poster with a number above 40,000.

Interesting . . .

Here is the deal:

Registered Members: 39985
Welcome to our newest member: cheeks

cheeks member number is: 40096

The number in the counter is the number of registered users. The member number (not the same thing) is higher, indicating that (40096-39985) 111 once registered users are no longer registered users. Make sense?

Something is not kosher here.

Can someone Unregister themselves?

Thank you for the growl! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

As you can see, some (111) members are no longer members. (You will have to ask the admins why - I suspect misuse.)

Susan,

I can explain the member number issue for you and Steve (and me too...).

I don't think member numbers were around at the very beginning of this board. At some point, my guess is that Steve decided to support "member numbers", and put everyone who had already signed up in alphabetical order and assigned member numbers from there...

That's why you're so close to Steve. Because you're "Susan". Nothing to do with your registration date (which was ages ago... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> )

The doc didn't participate here online very much---he did so much of the early work through email.

I dunno Pep. I'm a geologist, not a numerologist. If I were, I'd be a Count, not a PhD!

I still feel slighted that my friend, Happiness Within, has the member number "22222", and I don't have a single 2 in my number at all!

What's up with that?

The great crash of '99 probably had something to do with it.
