Pep in person. Hmmm. My mental picture of Pep...
A southern, gentile woman. Matronly, yet still very beautiful. Strong enough to work your butt off all day long. All the while exchanging pleasantries and imparting wisdom.
But at the end of the day, able to turn around and host a gathering of important people without breaking stride. To where you come in, knowing she was sweaty and dirty from the days labors and see her clean and appropriately attired and you wonder how she found the strength and time to transform and manage the circumstances so elegantly.
All the while, there is some deep thing that would be a great struggle for most of us, yet she deals with it and still finds time to minister to us through her day. And one day, you come to the realization of what she has actually done given what she has actually dealt with and you just say "WOW!" If I could be half the person, I would have twice the riches. And then you come to the sad realization that here is someone who will be sorely missed when her time comes, but yet there is enjoyment for the moments you were blessed with to know her.
And she wears a hat. She has to wear a hat. Not a cap, but a hat. Wide-brimmed and wickered with a flowered band. Also sunglasses too big for her face. And it is breezy wherever she is. And it isn't any trouble for her to make you cookies, but if you need a drinkin' buddy, she can do that too. She never wears pants, only dresses, and can manage to keep them clean no matter what she is doing.
Argh. Don't tell me anything to burst my bubble.
