Hi !!
I wasn't ignoring your post, just didn't know if I wanted to give an update on my life yet.
I thought you may have missed it. Should I quit asking? What would make you happiest?
Is it time? No, not yet. Couldn't move on if I wanted to as my heart would not be in it. I couldn't even date, after going through the grueling requirments to join eHarmony and taking the four hour test involved. More to this story but I am not ready to share it in it's entirety until I make a decision and I won't make a decision until after our trip to Cancun in June.
I wondered - You have come a long way. Will be waiting to hear what the decision is.

Paige is doing great. I have been working with her on her homework very closely. I should have been doing this all along but did not realize the importance of parents help with homework. No one ever helped me with my homework and I thought wanting to make good grades was an internal thing, but not in Paige's case.
I wish my mom would have caught on like you did. It is easier to notice in a group of kids. Some of them do homework well, some do well if coaxed, and some don't do it at all, no matter what. Somehow, I am glad she has you to help her.
Yes, she still has her timer, but is now with her dad for the weekend so I can stay on the computer night and day if I like! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
OK, you made me laugh. Still chuckling, can't type.
Whew, it's better now. No, Yeah, No, Ok........NOW for sure.
I am glad you are doing great. Great is better than good, or well. I hope work is going well too. As for the home front, is is warm enough to do those outside projects yet?
I can just see the two of you sharing a dorm room. "Mom, be sure and have the chores done when I get back from class."
It is good to see you have plans for vacation. It will do you a world of good to get away, and enjoy time with Paige. Probably do you as much good as it will her. Interresting the things kids wish for, they are smarter sometimes than we think.
I hope your niece can figure out what she needs in her life and go after it. So many people chase it all their lives, and still never figure it out. It sounds like you are getting there - and Paige too.
I don't believe you really need to respond if you don't want to. Earlier, I worried about you. Now I am curious.
One other thing - are all your ashtrays staying clean now days? This is one of my wishes for you, and for Paige too. She needs that example from you. I want you to have that gift for yourself.

SS,
I just wanted to respond briefly on the homework thing, and for anyone who is reading whose kids may be struggling with school.
After working with her for a couple of days, (and I really had to work hard to understand the math) having her correct any errors that I saw, etc - she said to me this morning "mom, I am so excited to go to school and get my papers back. I just know I made all A's" I seriously hadn't seen her this happy to go to school in a long time. I mean we worked so hard, even getting up a 5 a.m. to finish, and I was having her recite the spelling words and study for a test even as she took a bath. She didn't even mind that I prohibited all TV and phone use until I saw a good progress report!
She felt so good, knowing how hard she worked and that because I checked her work, and helped her to understand what she struggled with. I don't know, it was just amazing to see this light in her eyes.
I didn't realize how badly she felt about not understanding and getting so many bad papers back.
It was a very good week, for us both.
Thank you for caring SS. You are such a good person!

I think it was late 60's or early 70's
Campbell's soup had some adds that came with a song - "Life's simple pleasures are the best."
Doing things well is one of those simple things that makes us happy. You are right. She will be thankful all the days of her life that you cared this much.
We often talk at dinner with the twins about their day, what they did, learned, and what was hard for them. Time and attenton make a difference. Paige is lucky.
Your niece has similar needs, I hope she has some good local friends that can help her. She needs to know she has value, in and of herself. So many don't know that. I believe you are begining to understand.

Hi Weaver, just wanted to slip a little thank you note in here that even with all you're going through, you still have made the time to share so much helpful advice with me. I really appreciate your caring spirit, and my prayers are with you and your family.
