SS:

I'm thinking, tentatively, of heading back on Sa2rday, the 9th. But I'll probably check in here at least one over the week.

I have your work number (I think). We'll figure something out.

Ap:

go to www.skyandtelescope.com for updates on how 2 find the comet (that holds for others as well). None of us really knows what 2 expect - after all, how many of you know someone who'd heaved a massive copper ball at a comet nucleus at several miles per second before? Could be spectacular, could be nothing.

I intend 2 check it out, if it's clear.

Going 2 take the 9.25" (I know... "that's what she said!"... )

Three Dog Night

Out in the Country
(P.William/R.Nichols)

Whenever I need to leave it all behind
Or feel the need to get away-ay-ay
I find a quiet place, far from the human race
Out in the country

Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the night-time
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'

Whenever I feel them closing in on me
Or need a bit of room to move
When life becomes too fast, I find relief at last
Out in the country

Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the night-time
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'

[organ]

Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the night-time
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'

Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the night-time
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'

Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the night-time
(fade)

There's mine for this week - it'l make more sense when you get into the smoke from all these fires.

Congratulations to the entire Deep Impact team!

Good shooting, guys!

And to you 2Long, a very happy 4th!

When I read of the success, all I could think was that it would make you happy to see it. You are in a great line of work, 2Long.

I ac2ally had good clear skies here last night. 2k a seqence of a 2ple hundred images all the way up until the comet set behind the houses. You could definitely see it brightening after the impact.

Quite cool.

The comet is very interresting, but I want to know about 2long.

I hope the drive went well, and that you had good conversations with DS. All of it is important.

I am guessing that 2long is hoping really hard that something good comes from this week, but very afraid it will be same old, same old.

It's probabaly more difficult to put your thoughts out in front of us after the events of the last 6 weeks, but that's what I worry about - how you are.

I'm still here, leaving 2morrow. Was hoping 2 see SS in his hometown on my way back, but it looks like I need 2 go see my dad again, so I'm figuring on going back the way I came.

2day's his 88th birthday!

Things are going pretty good for me and the Mrs, though I think we've got a long road ahead of us still. There haven't been any times 2 have "R-talks", but like my coach once said, who needs 2 force them?

I feel pretty strange and detached, ac2ally, though there is definitely reason for hope. My W clearly doesn't want a DV, so I will be interested in her "plans" over the next weeks.

Things have 2 change for the better. And change is going 2 have 2 stay!

I am glad she clearly doesn't want a D.

Now, she needs to clearly want to work on the M, and do NC.

That's my opinion anyway, for what it's worth.

Have a nice drive. Don't get blown off the road.

Hey 2long,
You are a pretty good guy, and don't you ever forget it.

Thanks for stopping by. Come any time.
