Club Med? Meet Market? Cruising for Love? Going Solo? What do all these have in common?

They are all either singles travel clubs or facilities that cater to singles. I've been pampering myself today with some wishful thinking. So, what did I find? A vacation to Peru (where I've always wanted to go) - and guess what? It departs on the anniversary of D-Day!

Now, would that be a PERFECT way to "celebrate" it or what?

I'm seriously looking for a vacation getaway - one where either there are mostly other singles, or where there are things I can do by myself. I would love a day on the beach doing nothing, but one day is about enough. Though I've been all over the world, and am generally not afraid to travel to most anyplace, there are still places I wouldn't want to head out sighseeing by myself.

Someplace I haven't been before. Someplace fun and exotic. But with things to do other than drink all night long. A spa vacation would be nice too.

Hmmm - does anyone have any great ideas?

Peru would be heavenly. Would you go see the Inca ruin? I personally would avoid any that offer opportunities for "romance." To too many people that would translate to easy sex. Otherwise, I think it's a great idea.

Yes, I'd go to the Inca ruins, you betcha!

Interestingly enough, some of these singles trips are for women only, and some are not really "for" singles but advertise that way because they have pricing for individuals without markups, and don't require just double occupancies. Some of them will match you up with a same-gender roommate if you wish. Even the ones with names that suggest more than that, have agendas other than matchmaking.

I'm not looking for a matchmaking trip at all - just thought it would be fun to go somewhere exotic, meet some people who share my interests, and not be the ONLY single person around.

I just recently came across a site that offers various types of trips which are for women only. Everything from a spa...to ruins...to city life..to outdoor adventures. You may already be familiar with it, but I thought I'd send it along in case you're not.
