I will celebrate the 4th by working at the stupid restaurant until at least 4pm, then possibly cooking on the grill.
On the 3rd I may be able to talk my husband into going to the fireworks......if he doesn't wanna go, I'll just take the kids.

Well I'll be sunning my old self by my daddy's pool, eating lots of good stuff and then slathering on the mosquito repellant after dark to watch the illegal fireworks that my brother always brings. (I stay far from his madness... one year he set these humongous fireworks on a stepladder -- real creative he is -- lit the things and the ladder fell over, sending the fireworks spurting in every direction on the ground. Parents were grabbing kids and babies nd running for their lives. That's my bro. And that's why I stay a safe distance while he's working his wonders!!!)
One of my sons, who is a paramedic in training, is scheduled to work in the ER that night at one of the local hospitals... he'll probably get to attend to one of his family members who got too close to Uncle John's fireworks display. Knock on wood.
Our little city has a parade, fire engines, clubs, people of all sorts. The over/under is are there more people in the parade or watching the parade. Actually, I think usually there are more as anyone can join in. Then there is a picnic in the part in the afternoon, and then a band and music at night by which time the fog has usually come in and the 90 degree day has turned to about 50 degrees and every one is in overcoats.
