I don't get out much, but I'll buy either one of ya a cup of coffee (specialty even) if you're passing through.
And I gave up on baseball in '92 during/after the strike... good thing too, as the Royals havent' been much more than a farm club for the successful teams the past dozen years.

I don't think I'd ever let my spouse attend "that" one alone. LOL!

And for inquiring minds: Cow Patty Tossing Do you love to pick up cow crap and toss it around a field filled with even more cow crap? Well, you'd be the life of the party at the World Cow Chip Throwing Contest which takes place each year in a farmer's field in Beaver, Oklahoma. For some reason, people from around the world take in this opportunity to toss around poo. The record is held by Leland Searcy who chucked a chip 182 feet, 3 inches in 1979. http://www.kidzworld.com/site/p2383.htmNothing we'd do here in Ks. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> SD

Nice website SD. The bog snorkeling sounds like huge fun.. Hey TxTech is having a great football year!
Could be passing thru before year end. But it's me that owes you the world's largest cuppa joe, not the other way round. Would love to make that work out.
Back to bizniz. Haven't had that R talk yet with WW. She's tense about her professional exam. I respect her needs and understand that it's not the best time to have that talk. Pondering whether to put it off a week until after her exam.
I sincerely want to get a start towards building a new better M that will last for many years. I believe we should be together and can go on with our M sharing the deepest love.
Yday she informed me (that cursed boundary mentality again) that she plans to be a different person. Nothing to do with recovery, what she means is she won't be a pushover any more, she plans to be much more assertive, and said she would not 'sit at my feet' anymore. That seems a non-sequitur, but I think she gets it from the MC. The connection is that it's her delayed response to my ancient control behaviors. Her main defense mechanism re her A has been to cite my ways of old. Seems she's saying she won't be controlled/coerced/manipulated any more, and to me it sounds a bit like maybe (hopefully not!) she plans to do the controlling/coercion/manipulation.
Good grief she's always been maxed out on assertiveness, and the words 'sit at my feet' are completely the opposite of what she's ever done. What in the world does she have in mind anyway?
Wondering whether to explore that with her as part of our R talk, e.g. ask for her view of our new better M and how she plans to act, and how that fits with the potentially troublesome 'boundary' mentality.
But really I want the talk to be about her A; want her to take ownership of it and hopefully show some real remorse. At the very least disavow OM. Not sure if it's wise to mix that with her topic above. Which topic to approach first?

SD if you're not sick of the connections game here's another; as in infant I lived in Natoma while you were in the much bigger city of Stockton - about 30 mi away. Family was there a long time.

A small world, made smaller by electronics, eh?
We still need to get you into recovery, and we've probably wrecked this thread. I might suggest you take a day or two, surmise where you're currently "at" and start a new thread, with a new and catchy title. May get some fresh and helpful input, as well. (By the way, did you notice Slash popped back in a couple of days ago?)
This has been fun! (wondering if ML had poofy hair in the 3rd grade, or if she learned that in Tx)

**Howling**
It's easy to see you were "high" society early on, regardless of what year you were in the 1st grade. Thanks for sharing that. I'll be chuckling all evening.
So many good looking Kansans...so little time....LOL! SD

Wow great pic Mel! I'll bet you lit 'em up with that smile.
OK now that I know I'm dealing with Kanzonians and ex-Kanzonians, any further suggestions or advice will be strictly adhered to. I thought I was dealing with heathen Californians or some weird nationality like that. I take back any previous grains of salt I may have wanted to apply...
But I hate to start a new thread. This is kind of like the only diary I ever had.

I understand...my only point is when friendly, personal exchanges take place, disinterested folks will stop reading the thread and take their "help" elsewhere. You could print this one out, and start one more, and we'll do our best to stick with the topic!

Ack...thought I replied...must have lost it.
I get the idea you may be from the Windy City area, and still have kin in Western Ks. If you are headed through here on I-70, I'd be happy to buy you that cup of java.
I could post my e-mail address here, and remove it once you've got it, if that works for you?
What do you think?

Yup it was a thrill HTW. I wasn't kidding, it really brought a tear. I've been pretty cranked off at her lately, but clearly deep down inside I still care a ton.
Hoping things will get calmed down a bit in the HTW household. Maybe your W will have a reasonable definition of 'space'. Good luck with that.
Just found the IDIOTVILLE thread here. Been laughing all afternoon. Way funny! Check it out if you need a change of pace.

GOod luck to him. Couple of days back my 12yo's soccer coach had me jump in and play offense in a 12yo boys-vs-girls scrimmage. In 10 minutes the kids reduced me to a huffing sweating mess. Amazing that he whips me at a soccer now, seems like yesterday I was having a hard time throwing the 1-on-1 match to him without being too obvious..
