CC, LOL I'm with you!!
At the time, I was barely functioning, so coming up with anything original or meaningful seemed waaaay beyond my capabilities. I used my work computer sign on.
Then, on one of my very first posts someone (maybe Pep?) pointed out that it sounded a little like a too short smurf....oh well whats in a name?

When I was working towards D-day, I felt like I was at an inflection point. I asked myself if I was going to surrender and give up and move on...my answer not today.
Since D-Day and starting recovery I have tried to just get through every day and make that day better than the day before. Still a bumpy road but better than the alternative.

Mine was pretty hopefull. I wanted to be the light that finally would shine through the fog that had infected my wife. Must be my controlling nature.
And don't worry Mel, you're still the sharpest tool in the shed around here. J

It's a nickname of mine, used by only a select few. The few people that know about it certainly do not come to this website.
Well, I'm 99.9% sure they don't come to this website...
I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

This is just fascinating...it's everything I always wanted to know, plus a lot of stuff I didn't know I wanted to know until I knew it! *ducking bullets, maybe*
b0b, you are definitely one of the ones I was curious about. (Who am I kidding? I was curious about everybody!) But I to admit that when I first came on I thought that everyone else had chosen aliases, and you and Mel were about the only ones who had used their real names.

Bellevue Hospital in NYC has a locked ward for insane patients. I don't know why I added the "Belle" after it. I had tried "Belfrey" and "Batty" but they were already taken. I wondered whether I was crazy, felt like I was, and on one occasion my H (well, more than one) told me I was crazy, and that I was supposed to be a church-going Christian, and how could I say the things I was saying ....
Mind you, I was ranting and raving because the sumbeech came home after Christmas carrying a thousand dollar Coach briefcase, carrying it into the house hoping I would not spot it. I went a little nuts ..... because it was a gift from the OW .......
Now Bellevue feels very natural.

You're everyone's hero around here, b0b. In fact, I may change my name to nEak, lol!
To my credit, I did figure - even from day 1 - that Squid was most likely a nickname.

I wanted a name that would tell people my gender since I am often confused whether the posters are male or female. I also wanted a name people could use easily without the need to abbreviate. To some extent I am a conflict avoider. I therefore found Frank to be a little bit self mocking. I would do better if I spoke more frankly. And finaly, since I often find the age of the poster relevant, I included 57 - the year of my birth.

I started out here as AbandonedDad - but after awhile, I wanted to take out the negative "Abandoned" part, and since I was signing my posts "AD" anyway, I just changed my name to that - plus if you search the net for AD, you'll get hundreds of millions of hits - so it's a bit more anonymous than some other names I might have chosen.

NSYN, " Squid " is a REAL name !! LOL !
When I first met Squid we were in class and we got laughing.
I asked her second name and she said " It's Quinn". She had a cold at the time so it sounded like she said "Id Squid".
We laughed, and I loved her then and ever since. My Squid.
I shouldn't be anyone's hero NSNY. Seriously.
