Sad Mommy -
You could stop by my house on the way & then ride with me or follow me to Perimeter area......For you that would be another 30 minutes. I am right off of 316. What side of Athens are you on? Wouldn't 316 from Athens shorten your drive to about an hour??
I know that's a long drive to take with a little one.....

It has been narrowed down to El Azteca or Joe's Crab shack on Sunday, October 30th. We can move it to 5:40 pm to beat the "even hour" diners and assist those that can not stay late. I have no idea on distances and where these places are but aren't they close???.
Joe's Crab Shack - Georgia Guy said we could reserve the back room so noise is not a problem and more kid friendly. It's a school night prior to Halloween so unlikely to be that busy but what do I know, it is just as likely to be slammed. It is higher priced.
El Azteca - Do they take reservations???? Doubt it. But it doesn't look like the biggest group in the world so we can wait for a table(s) to open up. If I remember the seating is very crammed together so not much privacy. Love the food but we may have to compete with the casual sunday evening diner crowd and is it really easier to get to????
We fly to Atlanta on Wednesday and will not have access to a computer until Sunday morning. I'd like to print a map tomorrow night so a decision needs to be made as to where.
I vote Joe's Crab Shack at 5:40 pm Sunday. But Sad Mommys and Kim's vote each count 5 times mine because SM has a 9 month old and they are travelling much further than us.
So ladies...where is it gonna be????

Regardless of whether we stop by kim's house or not, it's still going to be a long drive. My vote is for Joe's.

I am sorry...I still vote Perimeter for all involved..Not much further and is best situated for all parties involved.
If Sad Mom goes to Kim's house...it will be not much further drive.
I am also single mom of little one driving...several of us are..
I vote El Azteca or MaggianoS near Perimeter...actually Maggiano's is awesome restaurant!

Maggiano's sounds better to me also. We recently got one here in Detroit about 2 miles from my house that I have yet to eat at but it looks nice.
Georgia Guy...Is Maggiano's O.K. with you?????? Assuming it is, can you call, find out if they take reservations and post a link to the map again.
As long as GG says O.K., which I presume...then it's set...5:40, Sunday, October 30th at the Perimeter based Maggiano's Italian Restuarant.
We are confirmed and coming...we leave Detroit 7 pm tomorrow. Like I said, after 3 pm tomorrow we will not be on-line until Sunday morning. We are flexible as our 5 y/o daughter will be with grandma so any changes we will see on Sunday.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

I'm in too!
SadMommy - e-mail me if you want to follow me in. I don't know where Maggiano's is, but we will find out!

Count me in - and DD4 (almost 5) too. The Crab Shack sounds great. I'm driving from Alabama, so the rest of you can stop complaining about how far it is now. Yeah, I know it's tough with a baby, though. We'll drive to Chattanooga after early church, do the Aquarium or the Creative Discovery Museum (to which she's never been) and then it's a 2-hour drive down to Atlanta - and a 4-hour drive home. (That's a 4 DVD trip, and I just saw gas for $2.59, WHOO-HOO!). If anybody else is coming through Chattanooga - especially with a child, please let me know, OK? All of you folks would be great to meet, but if I show and FGG doesn't, I'll be disappointed, so let me know, FGG, if you're not coming - and I won't either, LOL. I know your court date is Friday - and you might not feel like coming, but I hope you will. mb11094@yahoo.com - if anybody is coordinating. -AD

OK, when you guys say "Perimeter", you need to give us out-of-towners some Idea where that is - ideally with an exact address. OK?
Is "Perimeter" the same thing as 285?
So, please, anybody who is going to suggest a restaurant should take the time to look it up on AnyWho or Google and post the address OK?!!!

Yep, I saw that. It sounds doable; I sorta know where that is. Hopefully it's not too expensive.

Good Morning, ATL MB'ers.
Okay, here is the attendance list so far:
SadMommy05 w/DD (9 mo) Georgia Guy w/Jeb Mr. & Mrs. Wondering tdr & possible DD (5 y.o.) & DS (8 y.o.) JustPeachy w/DS (6 y.o) Kimberly234 StopTheWorldPlease AD w/DD (5 y.o)
I called Maggianos and they can put us in a semi-private room that may or may not have other folks (of similar sized groups). We would need to order in advance and be served "family style".
Here's the kicker: The cost, including gratuity and taxes, is about $40 for adults and $25 for kids.
I know this is a lot. I don't want anyone to be left out due to costs.
I am going to look at some other lower-priced options nearer the perimeter when I get time to see what I can come up with.
Please check my attendance list and see if I have included everyone.

That's about twice what I was budgeting for. While it sounds nice, I really can't afford it. I hope we can find something cheaper.

We'll find something less expensive.
Just keep your plans intact, we'll come up with an acceptable alternative for everyone!!

Hi Everyone...
We are really looking forward to coming, no matter where we end up...
I will say that I am a bit worried about one small caveat, however...I will be the only Former Wayward Spouse there...ya'll aren't gonna "tar and feather" me, or worse, bring actual 2 x 4's, are ya? Sure hope not!!! YIKES!!!
SadMommy, Mr. Wondering and I talked about it, and we would consider it an honor to pay for your meal...NOT CHARITY, just generosity-we have it, why not share it? This website has done so much for us, and it would be our pleasure to give just a small portion back in some way...we hope you'll let us do this...
We are flying in to Atlanta this afternoon...we are staying with my parents, who have "computer phobia", so we probably won't be able to check in until Sunday morning after the Halloween party at the home of our friends...we are up for anything, so we'll show up no matter what is decided...Has anyone considered giving a name at the hostess stand so we'll all "know" each other? Mr. Wondering always uses "Kent"...yes, as in "Clark Kent" ...go figure...any name will do, just keep us "posted"!!!
Can't wait to meet "all ya'll"!!!
Mrs. Wondering
Edited to Add...
[color:"red"]Thanks to Formerly G.G, for taking the "organization bull" by the horns! [/color]

There are so many restaurants in the Perimeter Mall area. I think there are one or two restaurants next to Maggianno's, Houlians is one of them. FGG If you give me direction I will do the leg work for you. I work very close by to this area. I am racking my brain now for not so loud, so expensive and kid friendly but still nice-- I will let you know if I come up with anything. Though $40 is expensive I would be willing to spend for this get together-- but I also know some of us including me are getting used to the single mom/dad and/or single income life.
