Mel, I think you have described me (comatose at 4PM). It's very frustrating because it mimics depression.

ack! I well remember the days when I had to plan my life around a nap! ugh..

Mel, Thanks for all the good suggestions. I am starting to get stoked up about getting back into good eating habits. I actually love veggies and spinach and dark green lettuces, etc. I guess I needed a push to take the time and be good to MYSELF and prepare all this.

Did you know that coke is terrible for you?? They clean battery acid with that crap!! [okok, so maybe I work for their competitor - sorry we are kicking your [censored], COke!] Seriously, I have never had a problem with caffeine, but if you get your blood sugar levelled out, you might not need it for that reason.

I am a died in the wool Coke product consumer. I finally weened myself off TAB (a blast from the past, huh?) a few years back because it was getting so hard to find. I had to train myself to develop a taste for diet coke!

My sister's friend is a comedian by trade and still smokes cigs. She claims "Hey they cut years off the end of your life. So what if I miss out on adult diapers, senility, and bingo games!"

You skanky coke ho!! You can't imagine the cola wars in my family. My sister is a VP for Coke and I work for her competitor; it gets pretty wild at times!

My mother was on anti-depressants and said she just felt flat. Not happy, not sad. Not sure what she was on; this was a few years ago. The drug was prescribed to help her quit smoking.

Although I am definitely in a depressive state at the moment, I really don't want to take anything that might make me tired, fat or uninterested in sex. So, I'm going to the store to pick up some Omega -3's along with my glucosamine/chondroitin. I guess the once a day Flintstones vitamins just aren't enough. Too bad, because they taste good.

Stress is a killer, and the mind-body connection is huge, IMO. I believe that stress may be the "unknown" factor for individuals with good HDL/LDL ratios, BP, family history, etc., who succumb to heart disease.

Combo SSRI and welbutrin is common for depression and to combat the sexual SE.

CABG stands for Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, or commonly known as just coronary bypass

Like I stated, taking it for 9-12 months is what most Psych'st I know recommends know instead of stopping as soon as you feel better, to reduce risk of relapse

Unfortunately the combo didn't work for me. Even reducing the lexapro to 5 mg. didn't eliminate the SF SE, which is why I eliminated it altogether.

I have read articles for a while now on taking fish-oil (omega 3s?) and depression. I'm a baby when it comes to taking pills so I stopped taking them. I'm going to look for them now. And Penaltykill, at least centrum makes a chewable vitamin. I think it might be as good as the Flinstones vitamins. CV

Another lesser known medication to counter act sexual side effects is REQUIP. REQUIP is prescripbed for restless leg syndrome and Parkinsons disease. REQUIP increases dopamine levels which are responsible for pleasure transmission. It's thought that by adding REQUIP it balances out the negative side effects of the SSRI.

Good to know, I've personally never prescribed it before nor have I discussed this medication with any collegues. Make sense tho

Hey now! That's what I take! (seriously! ) But I might have to check out the Centrum chewables. My doctor laughs when I tell him I take children's vitamins.

I've been on A/D's off and on forever, but am just starting therapy (had my first visit earlier this week). Hoping it will work better. And yes, posting here (actually over on Divorce/Dating) is theraputic for me, but I'm not sure it's not harmful to the other posters sometimes.

Anyway, very interesting stuff on here. Thanks for the responses! (started back on my Omega 3 capsules today)
