Ok - under most state laws (legal experts check in here please) we can't do this as an "official" thing. We'd need licensing and stuff. Actually, it's crazy enough to work. With enough coaching from the BS you COULD know enough about a WS to come off as plausible, couldn't you? That would mess up their little tryst. Hmmmm.

I'd consider it an honor and a way to repay someone from this site for playing detective for me back in the day.

For those that don't know, one of the members here checked out the apartment complex of OW for me a few times when my XH went to live in <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />the same city <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> as OW to "look for a job". Naturally <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> he wasn't seeing OW. I'm assuming his eyes must have been closed then when my fellow MB'er caught him walking out of an apartment with his arm around a blond and his (and by that I mean MY) nasty pickup parked outside.

Nothing illegal about it as long as it is not done for profit. Just friends helping out friends. All arrangements would necessarily be made off-line so as to not directly involve MB. These situations could become confrontational so I know MB will not want involvement of any kind. Maybe Mel could set up a separate PRIVATE board on EZ-BOARD that we can refer posters to.

Also, the gay idea is funny but not really good evidence. Though it might facilitate ending the affair quicker, getting video of the denying wayward would be most beneficial so the Betrayed can get their appropriate D-day. Just catching them out of state may not be good enough to overcome the denials and without getting the "detective" to show up in court then the whole incident can be denied, even with an affidavit. Pictures or video is a must.

I think staking out the infidels, delivering pizza or flowers and video taping the interactions would be the most anyone should undertake. The "detective" would get reimbursed for expenses and would simply return the spy-gear they borrow from Radio Shack the next week. The "detective" assumes the risk of damage to the spy gear and avoids any direct confrontation for safety sake (unless they really feel the need...using their own judgment).

Personal resentments should be left at the door...this idea is merely a tool for getting the goods and breaking down the denials.

Some notes:

I'd say anywhere the illicit duo has no reasonable expection of privacy is fair game. So pictures/video of WH/OW walking arm in arm to Faith's pickup in the parking lot would have been fine. Smashing into apartment/motel doors to take incriminating pictures is the work of fiction and it'll only get you put behind bars. Knocking on a door to deliver flowers wouldn't be illegal, but shoving them in some guy's/gal's face might be. (Brit? Help?) I don't know about taking a snapshot as the flower delivery is being made, I don't think that would be actionable. Loitering, etc., would be matters of concern to me. I don't have a PI license either, though most states don't regulate that function very strenuously. It probably wouldn't be hard to get one.

Actually, in Michigan it's very hard to get a PI license.

We would NEVER want to engage in anything illegal, immoral, or something that would be attached to MB in any way.

Simply a set of eyes and resources that a MB'er could call on from a distance to maybe document or whatever.

Most of us would never get the call but there may be that case where someone could possibly help if they simply had a couple of hours and a camera.

I've often thought of buying a GPS locator thing, and renting it out. They are somewhat expensive for just a one-time use. But just think of all the debating we could save here.

Say a new member comes on here and their spouse is doing the old disappearing act. Believer sends the GPS (overnight delivery of course) and the next day the BS installs it in the car engine. Voila! It transmits back the locations and time spent of wherever the cars goes.

So BS knows that spouse was not working OT, but at the EZ-LAY motel for 3 hours. All in less than 24 hours.

What is nice about an ez board is it is private. You can only get in by referral and approval of the moderator(s). We can simply have the poster contact us, never refer to the board directly on MB and tell them privately to come over to the EZ board. The invitee then can sponsor them in and they can get the help they may need.

It could work and be a valuable resource. The infidels love to get away, far away, from home to live out the fantasy, out in the open. They hide in the so-called illusion of privacy they can only get "out of town". It would be the perfect place to catch the wayward spouse. Imagine a video/picture of the WS, sent to the BS, then a half hour later once the "detective" has cleared the area the video/picture is sent to the WS's phone (with CC filled in to his parents, the OP's spouse, etc.).

Anyway, this could work. I'd love to knock on a door or two myself.

Again...no license required if it is not done for profit. No kicking down doors, placeing bugs, hiding GPS's for someone of course but if the popparazzi (sp?) can video and take pictures of anyone without a license then so can you and I.

What is being contemplated here is completely legal but can be dangerous. Not only of WS's but hotels, bars, restuarants will throw you out or call the police if they catch you videotaping. They will suspect you of no good and may treat you accordingly. So snoops beware.
