believer,

I need some of your attitude! I need to go clean a toilet or something!

This may sound strange, but ow is a singer, has a jazz band. She is not all that, but back in my day, I was very good. My H so wants me to start back up again. And I know the best revenge would be living well, getting back into my music, etc. But look how old I am, oops, I think ow is older. LOL. Anyhoo, wouldn't it look like competetion? I mean, this gal is doing everything I gave up, and still want to do. The similarities are creepy.

I can't even listen to certain songs, artists because of all this. I am so very sentimental, and associate songs with memories. ow actually quoted one of my H and my songs as one of 'their' songs during the a. I haven't been able to listen to it since. I know that sounds petty, but you have to know me. My H took all of the music that was precious to me and shared it with ow. It was very hard when H got all of his stuff back from ow and all my favorite music was there, even the song I sang at my brother's funeral.

I don't care if it sounds petty, it is what it is. Should I just listen to all those songs over and over until I become numb? I don't know, I know I am weird.

I need to get over it and clean my house and my soul out.

Love in Christ,
Miss M

What do you and your H do for FUN?

I think you need to RELEASE YOUR INNER TEENAGER...

My OS says.."When are going to start dressing like all the other Moms?"

He's trying to convince me that I am "OLD" every chance that he gets...

YUK!!!

MIMI,

We go for walks, but that is about it. We want to travel a bit now, but my mom's death has devastated us financially and we have to get thru that.

Hopefully, things will look up soon. It is mostly me. I just work and come home.

My H and I do spend alot of time together at home. He is wonderful. And supportive. I really need to get on the same page he is on.

I have gained a lot of weight, from menopause, and am embarrased to be seen in public. I was never overweight and it has been rather devastating for me. I know I don't look THAT bad, but it is hard. It doesn't bother my H one bit. He wants to lose weight together. I know what I need to do, and I need to stop drinking those 2 or 3 glasses of wine every other night. It is not helping, as my metabolism is very slow to begin with, so those extra calories are not helping.

I know, I am a mess. And I really don't have many friends for support. Sorry if it seems like I am having a pity party.

Love in Christ,
Miss M

Miss M:

Sounds like you might need Antidepressants...

What made you think MENOPAUSE accounted for your weight gain?

Do by any chance take any type of medication?

Actually wine is good for your heart - especially the red wines.

But somehow we just have to get you moving. It sounds like the affair, problems with kids, and your mom's death have really taken a toll.

Find some stuff that makes you feel good and do it. I did do a lot around my home. It makes me feel great to have everything sparkling clean. I took tons of stuff to the swap meet and sold it. And I donated lots to charity. It felt WONDERFUL getting rid of so much.

Then go on a diet and lose some of that weight. I did the low carb diet, and lost weight easily. I was never hungry and the pounds just melted off.

believer,

Well, the Dr. is the one who said the weight gain was from menopause. I did the low carb diet, followed Dr's every instruction and still gained weight every time I went back in for a visit. So he said it was the menopause, I would get thru it and eventually lose weight.

I was on antidepressants during the a, which helped a lot. I have general anxiety disorder, and have attacks occasionally, but not often.

The last time I was put on antidepressants, when my son went to prison , they just made me numb. I did not care if the bills were paid, house was clean, etc. I quit taking them and feel much better. Actually, I am glad to just FEEL.

I believe I had a lot of anxiety, but was not depressed. I don't care to have any more medications, besides short term ones, like Xanax, when I have my anxiety attacks. My Dr, however, does not like to prescribe Xanax, as it is addictive. I am not an abuser of drugs, tho, never have been.

I probably should go to the doctor. I have to choose another because my Dr has left and gone to another practice, which my insurance does not cover. I am terrified to go in. I have run out of my blood pressure meds and won't get more until I choose a new Dr and have a complete physical, per the Dr's office. YIKES.

Yeah, I need to flog the weight off.

Exercise will help get rid of the weight. Try that. It will also help with your anxiety.

And you MUST go to the doctor for your blood pressure meds. Find a doctor and get that physical done.

Anxiety attacks can be caused by not taking good care of yourself. Start doing that too.

I just talked to my folks and they were all excited about a break in the rain.

Will do believer!

Break in the rain? It's raining right now. Although we had a 'break' this morning. LOL!

You have inspired me to do something for myself.

Thank you all for caring, it might be just what I need to get myself out of my funk!!

Thank you all, it means more to me than you will ever know.

Good for you! It IS up to you to do something about this.

I knew I had to help myself, because no one else would. WH is living with OW, kids are grown and on their own.

Once I made the promise that I would take care of myself, things started getting better.

Dear Miss M,

I know how you feel with the being isolated.

It really sounds like you need a new purpose. I think it would be wonderful if you got back to singing jazz.

I love Jazz, and try to go the the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee every year.

Finding something you love to do, will help you keep your mind off your self.

In the end, I have nothing to lose but everything to gain, by trying to save my marriage.

Yes. Please go to the Dr. ASAP. It is dangerous to go off blood pressure medications. That places you at very high risk of having a stroke.

I found this in the BOLD LOVE THREAD, Miss M

Quote
The authors seem to be making a strong point that FORGIVENESS OF A NONREPENTANT OP IS NOT COMMANDED.....

Quotes are in italics...taken from p. 162

Biblical forgiveness is never unconditional and one-sided. It is not letting others go off scot-free, "forgiven", and enabled to do harm again without any consequence. Instead, forgiveness is an invitation to reconciliation, not the blind, cheap granting of it.

Jesus says, "...If your brother sins, rebuke him, and IF HE REPENTS, forgive him (Luke 16:3-4). Jesus makes it clear that forgiveness is conditional. We are not to rebuke unless a sin has been committed, nor are we to forgive unless true repentance has occurred. This strikes many Christians as wrong...

They end this section in saying:

The point for us is crucial. Reconciliation is not to be withheld when repentance-that is , deep, heart-changing acknowledgment of sin and a radical redirection of life-takes place in the one being rebuked. Nor is reconciliation to be extended to someone who has not repented. Forgiveness involves a heart that cancels the debt but does not lend new money until repentance occurs. ...cheap forgiveness-peace at any cost that sacrifices honesty, integrity, and passion-is not true forgiveness.

Thank you Mimi,

Just want you all to know I have an appt tomorrow at 10am for a complete physical and blood work up.

Thanks for the encouragement!!

And I will cancel the ow debt, she is in no way repentant, as my DD found out when she emailed and vented. The woman actually invited my DD to meet her, she wanted to look in my DD's eyes. YUCK. No apologies were forthcoming tho, ow said maybe my H could explain to DD someday why he needed a nonjudgemental friend he could talk to at that time in his life.

Thanks for everything, time for Miss M to get her life back, and get healthy.

okay all,

Have to get ready for work. Will let you all know of the bad news from Dr tomorrow nite.

Have to fast for 12 hours before I go. Yuck, but necessary. I am terrified as I know I am not in good shape, and it's my own fault.

Thanks to all for the boot in the butt to get to the Dr.

Hope to start singing and playing the Bass again soon.

Love in Christ,
Miss M
