It's all good to me...no worries

I heard there was an interesting blow up over on Dr. Phil's boards between the "Polyfidelity" people and religious posters. Have not read or even visited the site; but, thinking out loud, I think I would love to see WAT jump right smack into the MIDDLE of that debate.

WAT, your steadfast and excessive adherence to this freedom of speech/non-censorship principle is clouding your rationality.

How so?

Quote
I surmise if and when Tracy and Chales do post they will get constructive criticism, 2 x 4's, and support in relation to what they post here. This will happen in a completely open and public forum. I am counting on it.

Then why even mention "that any hurtful words be edited out"? Your surmise is correct > no need to request special treatment.

Quote
I hope you don't find nothin'. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

I found nothing reassuring in your request nor in your response that indicates a sense of reality or understanding of how folks are treated here.

And yes, I am a fanatic about honesty.

WAT, your steadfast and excessive adherence to this freedom of speech/non-censorship principle is clouding your rationality. When you begin looking for and finding "violators" under every rock and crevice, you may find YOURSELF on a slippery slope. At the bottom of that incline you simply have run out of people to interrogate because no one will talk to you (not likely to happen ). Perhaps when you discover there is no one else to investigate...you'll be left having to investigate yourself....I hope you don't find nothin'.

Don't you think this is a bit over the top?

Seriously,

Did you meet Rusty the Bailiff?

Someday, you've got to share the betamax copy you surely have of that with us all.

I'm certain to get *stars* in my eyes. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I happened to catch that episode of Dr. Phil. I found it to be was so illustrative of the "foggy WS" concept.

On the one hand, it was difficult to imagine WHY Tracey would want to continue on in the marriage. Charles came off as very arrogant and self-serving.

But on the other hand, when you examined the expression on Tracey's face whenver she was looked at Charles, it was almost like you could read her mind...."My husband is still in there somewhere, and I need help bringing him back".:(

It was heartbreaking, and yet hopeful too. By the end of the program, I had the feeling that Charles was beginning to really SEE Tracey again. I hope that's not wishful thinking.

We "won", of course.... it was a pit bull case ... and for a few years they'd re-show our case when there was a pit bull dog bite in the news (serious cringe here)

The person who made a real impression on me was

Doug Louellen .... he's HUGE ... like 6'6" ... weighing in at no more than 150 pounds is my estimation

Bowling is sort of an alpha-male type type activty...I'm sure I could demonstrate my inherent dominance to all of you weaker vessels...

Ugly? UGLY? <Mmmm...no snappy comeback>

...I am rubber and you are glue...words bounce off me and stick to you... <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

I love alpha-male conversations

LOL!

Come on Pep...you ARE a star in MBland. Like a morph between Jack Nicholson and Robin Williams....tough guy with a humor.

WAT...hmm..Dustin Hoffman Jayne Fonda--nice guy, symphathetic character who often takes on his cause against the majority.

Arkie--cant place her but something out of the 70s flowery poetic psychological straight liner.

The Wonderings have got to be that Married couple in the show about the mouse--what was that movie--Stewart Little.

Mortarman--Tom Hanks.....

Arkie is Mary Tyler Moore <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Pep? Well her name suits here, LOL

WAT is brilliant and loves a challange so I find him a very interesting poster even though I don't always agree with him. BTW, WAT I would love to take a contract out on that OM of yours! yuck! Glad your kids have you.

My take on who Mr. and Mrs. Wondering are like is "Robert Wagner and Stephanie Powers" on Hart to Hart series.

Arkie reminds me of "Della Reese" who played the angel with old fashion wisdom, practical, down to earth, with compassion.

Lemonman reminds me of the doctor who play head of department on "House",
Very dry humor, but straight from the hip and honest that sometimes hurts, but like bad medicine, is a needed to help heal those needing it.

Bobpure is a man on a mission, bringing hope and compassion to all the new bs.

Melody, well, she is a star all by herself. I can not think of one person she is like.

I am that texan girls best fan.

In the end, I have nothing to lose but everything to gain, by trying to save my marriage.

KD,

You've seen our picture...I was hoping for Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

WAT -

1. Over the top? No, tongue in cheek.

2. Rational? IMO, it was irrational to take my simple REQUEST and infer censorship, an attack on freedom of speech or an affront to honesty. As Pepp said, my request was "silly". I breached MB etiquette. Sorry, all. It was not my intent.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! This is HILARIOUS...thanks Ahuman, I needed that laugh...if I ever find a half way decent picture of Mr. W and I together, you will be thrown for a loop at how much this image does not fit...but it's funny...

Oh Lord, this is what I get for sleeping late and letting my yankee husband run amok <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />...LOL...He knows that I did not agree with his *request* from yesterday...I personally chose to post updates only, letting others decide their own reactions and subsequent posts...be they ones I agree with or not...So careful everyone who chooses to use the "Wonderings" reference...We are still 2 people...Yes, we are married, yes, we usually agree on most stuff, but we are still independent thinkers with 2 separate viewpoints...sometimes they match, sometimes they don't...I do always respect his views...

My posts about Charles and Tracy have been optimistic...please don't confuse that to mean that I think that "everything is coming up roses"...But, I do think that they have a shot just like everybody else...I may feel stronger about this couple because I have a different perspective regarding them than others on this board do. That's what it's all about, right? Perspective.

I am not foolish enough to think that I know better than any of you...most of you on this thread have certainly seen more than I when it comes to how others wade through the cesspool of infidelity. It is that wisdom that I have come to rely on and be grateful for. Pep, holds a particularly special place in my psyche because of some well deserved 2 x 4's that she gave me and a coupla "atta girls" too-she knows that. Susan was one of the first to post to me and make me smile...sumpin bout "Hoddy Toddy, Godalmighty..." <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />. Low, you made me feel like the "feelings" that I was having while in withdrawal were ok-you even told me that in counseling you had discovered that you were really in love with your OW(huh? But ok)...at the time, I looked at that as your being "on my side"...that probably wasn't true, but that thought helped me stick around here. I am many times awed by the poetic wisdom and sensibilities that Ark brings to her posts. Of course in doing "research" while in this forum, I am familar with the legend that is WAT...and have enjoyed the humor that he has brought around since he's been back...
I would just like to point out, that we really do have the power to impact lives with our words...Of course, how we choose to spend those words is clearly up to each individual...no argument from me...

Regarding Charles and Tracy and what I "feel" or "believe" as opposed to what others might think that I "feel" or "believe"...

I chose to email Tracy and subsequently, Charles, because I saw my WS self in Charles...GASP...Yes, I was that bad...and God, this place and Mr. W have brought me back from the "bowels of He11"...I just wanted to pass that on to that couple if possible...I was not at all starstruck-I certainly don't view them as stars, and though I like Dr. Phil, I am not his biggest fan by any means...So, "stars in my eyes", well, really it just wasn't as pretty as all that...I just had flashbacks of some of the sick stuff I said and did when I was an active WS...

My posts are typically pretty one dimensional, and do not always develop my entire point of view...Hey, I don't have that kind of time, nor am I delusional enough to think that others care about every tiny caveat of my thoughts-LOL-Although many of my posts may convey lots of "sunshine and roses" regarding recovery...I am a realist, and I do know better...so does Mr. W--we live it first hand everyday with our own recovery juxtaposed with regular old run of the mill life...we are glad that we get to say *recovery* and not Plan A, Plan B, or God forbid Plan D. So we do feel blessed, and, of course, would like the fates of all who come here facing infidelity to match our own thus far...Do we understand that this is an unrealistic hope...Uh Huh, AMEN, Hallelujah, "you bet your bippy"...but everyone does have that *chance*...because of that, laugh, if you will, I "get a kick" out of being a CHEERLEADER for them thar folks...

Just a little more than my .02...

Mrs. Wondering

P.S. WAT, don't make me go get my friend Biggles...LOL... <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I think his arrogance was most evident when he kept asking Dr Phil in a genuinely confused tone how and why he cheated and did what he did.

I think the man is profoundly blind to his own weaknesses and THAT was his downfall.

this is a man who NEEDS a mirror held up to his face.

If he can acknowledge what is there, then I think there is a good chance their marriage can be healed.

And remember, no matter how big a pond scum any WS is, there is profound growth and healing to be found in the BS learning plan A and plan B, and carrying it out.
Well, now. How in the world can he ever see himself as anyone but Don Juan until that dang fog lifts? Little Miss "Beautiful-makes men fall from chairs" needs to back off so he can see halfway straight.

In talking to Charles (and Tracy) last night by phone, he now sees that the "polyfidelity" label was a load of...

C * R * A * P!!!

He said that the light went on for him when Dr. Phil "showed" him the definition of polyfidelity is cheating in the Dr. Phil dictionary.

He whole heartedly agreed with a quote that I gave him from our beloved MelodyLane, which states, <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />"You can dress a hawg up and take it to a dance, but it's still just gonna be a hawg!" <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />...He and Tracy both got a big laugh outta that...Thanks Mel...

They are getting some very good intensive counseling. They have been reading HN/HN...we advised them to get SAA...Charles, like all FWS, is amazed at how much the stories of other's infidelities match his own...The "Wow, I'm Not Unique At All" factor has hit it's mark...His last contact was last week-in person-UH OH, but the concept of the NC letter was new to them...Charles is fully on board with writing one...Tracy really liked that...this couple took notes while we talked to them...YIKES, we are so NEW at this...we stayed on Dr. Harley's narrow path, so I think we did ok...I hope and pray that we did...

thanks, kds. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
