This one makes me especially sad because it was our wedding song. Now, if only my FWH would have meant the words.

"From This Moment" by Shania Twain

I do swear…that I’ll always be there…
I’d give anything and everything and I will always care
Trough weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow,
For better for worse, I will love you
With every beat of my heart

From this moment…life has begun
From this moment…your are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on
From this moment…I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I’d give my last breath
From this moment on

I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can’t wait to live my life with you can’t wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment…as long as I live
I will love you…I promise you this
There is nothing…I wouldn’t give
From this moment on
Oh oh

You’re the reason I believe in love
And you’re the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams…came true…because of you

From…this…moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn’t give
From this moment
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on

Our wedding song was Perfect Union by Matthew Ward. That guy's got a crazy range and awesome voice.

I use lines from it in things I do for my WW now, like puting the chorus on the card I sent with her roses.

Well I won't say that any are my 'favorites'. On a whole it seems that I just can't listen to music -period! - even christian. Music was a huge part of our life, more or less always on at our house/in the car plus my X is a drummer and he also loves to sing. He compiled a whole heartbreak cd which he played over and over to work on my emotions I suppose.
It included songs like Backstreet Boys - Incomplete; Chicago - Look Away, Hard to Say I'm Sorry, Hard Habit to Break, If You Leave Me Now; 38 Special - Second Chance; KC and the Sunshine Band - Please Don't Go...........
The following one - he held my hands, looked me dead in the eyes and sang it as it played one night while we were out getting pizza, plus a few other times. Instant breakdown if I hear it.

The Reason
by Hoobastank

I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so, I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you

I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
That's why I need you to hear

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you

I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you

I've found a reason to show
A side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you

Maybe that's a reason we had issues, our tastes in music is so different.

I'm a punk at heart, grew up listening to Black Flag, the Cramps, etc and now am big into alternative Christian and bands like U2 and Radiohead. Also listen to a lot of the modern P&W music as I play bass in my church band.

My WW on the other hand, listens to the typical "soccer mom" Christian station here in Big D. I never thought I'd hear Christian music sound so commercial.

If I can say so myself, I think it is kind of sick of me, but I kinda 'like' this song - not too sure of the exact meaning but it reminds me of what the X did.......

Mr. Brightside
by Killers, The

Coming out of my cage
And I've been doin' just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this?
It was only a kiss
It was only a kiss

Now I'm falling asleep
And she's calling a cab
While he's having a smoke
And she's taking a drag

Now they're going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it's all in my head
But she's touching his chest now
He takes off her dress now
Let me go

And I just can't look
It's killing me
And taking control

Jealousy
Turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it's just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
Cus i'm Mr. Brightside

I'm coming out of my cage
And I've been doin' just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this?
It was only a kiss
It was only a kiss

Now I'm falling asleep
And she's calling a cab
While he's having a smoke
And she's taking a drag

Now they're going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it's all in my head
But she's touching his chest now
He takes off her dress now
Let me go

Cus I just can't look
It's killing me
And taking control

Jealousy
Turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it's just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
Cus i'm Mr. Brightside

I never
I never
I never
I never

Tonio K. "Romeo and Jane"

"i've heard of unfaithful lovers but this is outrageous
soon the national enquirer will run the front pages
i saw shakespeare and cheetah
crying in their margaritas
bad news

romeo loves jane
the jungle will never be the same
and juliet's crying again
romeo loves jane

now in a wold full of hurt how can anybody blame them
and in the heat of wild love how can anybody tame them
they have fallen east of eden now

good love gone bad
bad love gone wild
wild love gone mad
mad love out of control"

My brother gave me a Coldplay CD right after H left me. At the time we were still working on the M. Everytime I heard the "What if" song I cried.

"What If?"
by Coldplay

What if there was no lie
Nothing wrong, nothing right
What if there was no time
And no reason, or rhyme
What if you should decide
That you don't want me there by your side
That you don't want me there in your life
What if I got it wrong
And no poem or song
Could put right what I got wrong
Or make you feel I belong

What if you should decide
That you don't want me there by your side
That you don't want me there in your life

Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
Let's take a breath, jump over the side
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
How can you know it, if you don't even try
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right

Every step that you take
Could be your biggest mistake
It could bend or it could break
That's the risk that you take

What if you should decide
That you don't want me there by your side
That you don't want me there in your life

Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
Let's take a breath, jump over the side
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right
How can you know when you don't even try
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right

Ohhh - Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right,
Let's take a breath, jump over the side.
Ooh ooh-ooh, that's right,
You know that darkness always turns into light.
Ooh-ooh, that's right

***********************************

Well, H did decide he did not want me by his side.....

When H and I first met, I bought this beautiful summer dress. It was yellow and H wrote me a beautiful love letter saying he imagined me standing in a field in the yellow dress holding our child.......

The song "yellow" by Coldplay always remind me of that moment........it breaks my heart every time......by the end H did not even want to have children........

"Yello", by Coldplay...
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.
I came along,
I wrote a song for you,
And all the things you do,
And it was called yellow.
So then I took my turn,
Oh what a thing to have done,
And it was all yellow.
Your skin
Oh yeah, your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
You know, you know I love you so,
You know I love you so.
I swam across,
I jumped across for you,
Oh what a thing to do.
Cos you were all yellow,
I drew a line,
I drew a line for you,
Oh what a thing to do,
And it was all yellow.
Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
Turn into something beautiful,
And you know for you,
I’d bleed myself dry for you,
I’d bleed myself dry.
It’s true, look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine for you,
Look how they shine.
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do.

I guess I am an old soul....or maybe I am just old. But to me the classic tear jerker song is "He Stopped Loving Her Today" by George Jones....the old possum.

He said "I'll love you till I die",
She told him "You'll forget in time"
As the years went slowly by,
She still preyed upon his mind

He kept her picture on his wall,
Went half-crazy now and then
He still loved her through it all,
Hoping she'd come back again

Kept some letters by his bed
Dated nineteen sixty-two
He had underlined in red
Every single "I love you"
I went to see him just today,
Oh but I didn't see no tears
All dressed up to go away,
First time I'd seen him smile in years

He stopped loving her today
They placed a wreath upon his door
And soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today

You know, she came to see him one last time.
Oh, and' we all wondered if she would.
And it kept running' through my mind-
"This time he's over her for good."

My favorite George Jones story is the classic when he came home wasted from the bar - wanted to go back out for more and his wife hid the keys to the car, so of course he took the riding lawn mower - to the bar

This is me - carnation

I was watching CMT today and saw the video of this song by Sara Evans called : Cheaten , I think it fits right in here :

You say your every day
Is a bad dream that keeps repeatin'
Maybe you should've thought about that
When you were cheatin'

How do you like that furnished room, the bed, the chair, the table
The TV pictures goes in and out, too bad you don't have cable
How do you like that paper plate, and those pork-n-beans you're eatin'
Maybe you should've thought about that
When you were cheatin'

How do you like that beat up car, I think it's fair we traded
You pick up truck is running fine, it's a cozy ride for datin'
Yes, I've been out a time or two, and found the comfort I've been needin
Maybe you should've thought about that
When you were cheatin'

You made your bed and your out of mine
You lie awake and I sleep just fine
You've done your sowing, now you can do your reaping
Maybe you should've thought about that
When you were cheatin'

What became of what's her name, after she spent all your money
Did she leave you like you left me, sometimes life is funny
But I'll be glad to take you back, just as soon as I stop breathin
Maybe you should've thought about that
Maybe you should've thought about that
When you were cheatin'
When you were cheatin'

As I was watching this it made me wonder how many people have lived this once its over..... They find out the grass is not always greener.....

Anyhow I thought it was interesting and fit so many of our WS'S......

Artist: Nazareth
Song: Hair of the Dog Lyrics

Heart breaker, soul shaker
I've been told about you
Steamroller, midnight stroller
What they've been saying must be true

Bridge:
Red hot mama
Velvet charmer
Time's come to pay your dues

Chorus:
Now you're messin' with a
A son of a ******
Now you're messin' with a son of a ******
Now you're messin' with a
A son of a ******
Now you're messin' with a son of a ******

Talkin' jivey, poison ivy
You ain't gonna cling to me
Man taker, born faker
I ain't so blind I can't see

I heard this one today. Made me really sad!!

"When God Made You"

(Verse 1)
Its always been a mystery to me
How two hearts can come together
And love can last forever
But now that I have found you, I believe
That a miracle has come
When God sends the perfect one
Now gone are all my questions about why
And Ive never been so sure of anything in my life

(Chorus)
I wonder what God was thinking
When He created you
I wonder if He knew everything I would need
Because He made all my dreams come true
When God made you
He must have been thinking about me

(Verse 2)
I promise that wherever you may go
Wherever life may lead you
With all my heart Ill be there too
From this moment I want you to know
Ill let nothing come between us
And I will love the ones you love
Now gone are all my question about why
And Ive never been so sure of anything in my life

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge)
He made the sun He made the moon
To harmonize in perfect tune
One cant move without the other
They just have to be together
And that is why I know its true
Youre for me and Im for you
Cause my world just cant be right
Without you in my life

(Repeat Chorus)

(Tag)
He mustve heard every prayer Ive been praying
Yes He knew everything I would need
When God made you
When dreams come true
When God made you
He mustve been thinking about me

LMAO Mel

Here's one I like.

Objection (Tango)
Shakira

It's not her fault that she's so irresistible
But all the damage she's caused isn't fixable
Every twenty seconds you repeat her name
But when it comes to me you don't care
if I'm alive or dead

So objection I don't wanna be the exception
To get a bit of your attention
I love you for free and I'm not your mother
But you don't even bother

Objection I'm tired of this triangle
Got dizzy dancing tango
I'm falling apart in your hands again
No way I've got to get away

Next to her cheap silicon I look minimal
That's why in front of your eyes I'm invisible
But you gotta know small things also count
You better put your feet on the ground
And see what it's about

Objection I don't wanna be the exception
To get a bit of your attention
I love you for free and I'm not your mother
But you don't even bother

Objection I'm tired of this triangle
Got dizzy dancing tango
I'm falling apart in your hands again
No way I've got to get away

I wish there was a chance for you and me
I wish you couldn't find a place to be
Away from here

This is pathetic and sardonic
It's sadistic and psychotic
Tango is not for three
Was never meant to be

But you can try it
Rehearse it
Or train like a horse
But don't you count on me
Don't you count on me boy

Objection I don't wanna be the exception
To get a bit of your attention
I love you for free and I'm not your mother
But you don't even bother

Objection I'm tired of this triangle
Got dizzy dancing tango
I'm falling apart in your hands again
No way I've got to get away

Yeah! Tell 'em Shakira!!! LOL

*One Last Breath*

Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding on to all I think is safe
It seems I found the road to nowhere
And I'm trying to escape
I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say

Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down

I'm looking down now that it's over
Reflecting on all of my mistakes
I thought I found the road to somewhere
Somewhere in His grace
I cried out heaven save me
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say

Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down

Sad eyes follow me
But I still believe there's somthing left for me
So please come stay with me
'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me
For you and me
For you and me

Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking

this song is really special to me ,, a friend of my DD sings it .

THE Special Two

I've hardly been outside my room in days,
'cause I don't feel that I deserve the sunshine's rays.
The darkness helped until the whiskey wore away,
and it was then I realized the conscience never fades.
When you're young you have this image of your life:
that you'll be scrupulous and one day even make a wife.
And you make boundaries you'd never dream to cross,
and if you happen to you wake completely lost.
But I will fight for you, be sure that
I will fight until we're the special two once again.

And we will only need each other, we'll bleed together,
our hands will not be taught to hold another's,
'cause we're the special two.
And we could only see each other, we'll breathe together,
these arms will not be taught to need another's,
'cause we're the special two.

I remember someone old once said to me:
"that lies will lock you up with truth the only key."
But I was comfortable and warm inside my shell,
and couldn't see this place could soon become my ******.
So is it better to tell and hurt or lie to save their face?
Well I guess the answer is don't do it in the first place.
I know I'm not deserving of your trust from you right now,
but if by chance you change your mind you know I will not
let you down 'cause we were the special two, and will be again.

And we will only need each other, we'll bleed together,
our hands will not be taught to hold another's,
'cause we're the special two.
And we could only see each other, we'll breathe together,
these arms will not be taught to need another's,
'cause we're the special two.

I step outside my mind's eye's for a minute.
And I look over me like a doctor looking for disease,
or something that could ease the pain.
But nothing cures the hurt you bring on by yourself,
just remembering, just remembering how we were...

When we would only need each other, we'd bleed together,
these hands would not be taught to hold another's,
When we would only need each other, we'd bleed together,
these hands would not be taught to hold another's,
we we're the special two.
And we could only see each other, we'd bleed together,
these arms will not be taught to need another's,
'cause we're the special two.
