Okay, then, tell me if these two verses mean the same thing!

Acts 17:22 (NIV)
Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious.

Acts 17:22 (King James Version)
Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

Paul says this because he's talking about idolatry.
Acts 17:16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

Now, does God think idolatry is too superstitious or very religious?

That's an obvious question with an obvious answer. The words matter because they are NOT the same message.

Other words that are changed that do NOT give the same message:

slave for servant
adequate for pure
proud for rejoice
prosperous for righteous
imitate for follow
outward adorning for NOT with outward adorning
humiliate for humble
obey for believe
grave for he11
servant for Son
teacher for good master
humble for vile
beat my body for keep under my body

and on & on & on & on.....

If you can show me where those words are interchangable, I'd love to see it because anyone knows those don't mean the same at all - it does change the message.

Don't forget the words completely omitted when talking about who is Jesus Christ:
Alpha and Omega
equal with God
God
the creator
co-eternal with God
virgin born
rose from the dead
ascended into heaven

What about the words omitted when talking about how we are saved:
by grace
through his blood
Lord, Jesus

Can you explain how taking out these words & replacing the other words makes any of the new versions MORE clear? In fact, it makes it more confusing.
