Consider that one snagged. Here's a couple of my favorites, see if you get the first one:

Ok, so I stayed, did you expect anything less?

She did however move into the downstairs bedroom last night. Well, actually she slept on the couch, she's got clothes stacked on the bed downstairs waiting to be iron and hung.

I must be honest and say, I stayed up until about 1:00am reading a couple comic books I bought then had the best nights sleep I've had in months.

Yes, I still collect comics. Hey, I'm an artist, I'm entitled to be a little excentric at my age

Good for you. Hopefully the in-house break will give you a respite and maybe even help bring your wife around.

What comics? I have about 6 long boxes worth from collecting off and on over the last 20 years. I hope your weekend goes well.

There are a couple title I collect religiously, Captain America and Star Wars are the top two. I also collect the GI Joe series and the new Superman. I got the reprint of Hulk v. Wolverine and a couple others.

Still waiting on Ororo #6 that was supposed to come out three months ago.

Also, I'm a big Joss Whedon fan so I collect Astanoshing X-Men as well. Plus many different miniruns, 1-5 or 6 of different spinoffs. I just filled my first box up and am now working on #2. And unlike a buddy of mine who just collects, I actually read all mine

Daredevil, Star Wars and G. I. Joe are/were my top 3 titles. I've got almost all of Marvel's Star Wars run, and most of the first 50 G. I. Joes (Marvel), plus a lot of Devil's Due/Image G. I. Joe's stuff. I collect to enjoy (i.e., read), as well as save. Haven't been collecting for the last 6 months due to a variety of reasons.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled forum

Bah, the regurlarly scheduled thread can wait. Sometimes a little levity is just what the doctor ordered.

Did you get to pick up the Daredevil/Punisher series that eneded a few months ago? Great stuff. I like Garth Ennis' stuff on Punisher as well but can only take it in small doses.

I was dissappointed when Dark Horse killed the Star Wars Tales series. A buddy and I were puting together a one up twelve page story to submit to it Oh well, maybe someday.

Here's an inking I did from one of my sketches. Ironically enough, he looks just like me:

I think I picked up the first 2 issues before I stopped collecting again. I don't follow the artists/writers as much as I do titles. I did enjoy most of the Bendis/Maleev run on DD - right up there with Frank Miller's stuff, IMO.

I never could get into that title, though I thought about it when they revamped it around issue 20 to have more of a central theme per issue, or something like that. As an interesting tidbit, I know the president of Dark Horse. Not that he knows or remembers me, but I used to frequent his comic shop in my younger days right as they were launching the company

Nice sketch, by the way. Did you ink it as well? I used to draw a lot (my son says I'm quite good at it), but haven't done much in a long time. Nowhere near the quality you have, but I could copy stuff free-hand real well

Yessir I did. My life drawing skills usually need a real model so that's actually me when I used to be bald. I've since let it grow back out. I rigged up a pseudo costume from bits and pieces I had in the house and had the W snap a photo.

I got the idea from the guys that used to do the old Flash Gordon comics. All the artists used to pose for each other.

Cool. I've always wondered how the inking process worked. Everything I did was in pencil, and then I would go over it with a pen and use colored pencils or makers to fill in the colors, but the impression I had/have is that inking is a little more involved than just going over the pencils from the artist.

Not necessisarily. What I do is sketch first, then lay a sheet of vellum paper over it and actually ink it from there. I think in this particular sketch, those may actually be pencil lines.

I did the same thing but the original sketch was in blue line (been doing that more and more lately). Anyways, after the blue line sketch, I laid the velum then reworked the lines in pencil while on a light table. Kept them as clean as possible then scanned the pencil sketch.

That's why it looks inked. That's becoming common practice too, save a lot of time.
