Awesome update...I just posted to your t/j on the calling Tempest thread...and here you are!!! Terrific.

Lots of great thought time...find an internet cafe along the way...spew for me...because I think you could definitely share some great self-care tips here...like the ride itself.

Did you read Believer's thread? It was bumped from May...I think you'll like it...has a Harley in it...

Heehee.

Wait...in a couple weeks? Won't that be like...HOT? REALLY HOT? It's not like playing on the monkey bars when I was a kid, is it?

Silly question, I know...but it's hot out there!

HI, Sturgis, don't think we've met! Do I has to ask how you are? If H and I were going, I would be like a kid in a candy store! We just purchased our HD!

LA- Sorry I haven't gotten around to posting here before! Just wanted to pop in, instead of trying to read the whole thread. I do get lazy sometimes! LOL I want to be the cat lounging in the warm rays of the sun, perched atop a cushie pillow, near the window, with the leaves cassassing outside in the fall air. LOL

I think I owe it to myself to be lazy this weekend. I've worked really hard this week on me!

i read believers posts from awhile back and just posted something on it the other day as a matter of fact!!!

yes...it will be HOT...last year got alot of rain off/on throughout the whole trip...year b4...only 1 day, so im hoping little or no rain...it a royal P.I.T.A....if you know what i mean!!

""HI, Sturgis, don't think we've met! Do I has to ask how you are? If H and I were going, I would be like a kid in a candy store! We just purchased our HD!""

i lurk in the shadows around here now...LA helped me with some personal growth awhile back over some issues i had after my D...now life is rollin along pretty good!!!

if you ever go to a rally...my advice is get hooked up with a good group of friends who ride or join your local HOG group where you bought ur bike....go with people who have been b4 so you can learn all the little tricks otherwise...it might be OVERWELMING and not that fun...

i go to sturgis but dont spend much time at the BIG rally...maybe a hit couple of bars in Deadwod or a concert or two at "full throttle" or "buffalo chip"...

its more fun to take the rides through the black hills and surrounding areas...we spend all week riding...last year rode through a heard of buffalo in "custer state park"....it was INCREDIBLE!!! (yes...i have pictures to prove!!)

we planning a trip right now for september for 4-5 days in colorado.....thatll be nice!

September in Colorado..oh, Sturg, great choice....

Can you plan it towards the end of September? Maybe go from Grand Junction south, to Durango?

We did that last year for the first time...and no, in a car...and the beauty was so much, I swear it burnt my eyeballs.

Great to see you again and I'm sure Rin will take your advice...she's good at that...

Hey LA,

Update: Things are getting better, still a long way to go but better.

Thank you for posting to me on another thread yesterday.

Take care.

Stugis-I do intend to use your advice given the opportunity, as a matter of fact, I plan to let H read your post. He mentioned that's the only way he'll get on here is if, I find something I think he's interested in. Not sure why, although I did ask.

LA-Thanks for the compliment about taking advice well. It means a lot to me. I see that you've helped a lot of people during your time here. I hope to return the favor to someone else someday!

Eagle -

I see you giving back...and my heart warms. Are you thriving, personally?

LA

Rin -

This exercise, the one on this thread, I originally did with my H...just a couple of weeks after no contact. When you guys begin getting your RC (motorcycle riding, I 'spect) time in, maybe he would enjoy doing this exercise.

I know you'll give back, Rin...we're soul sisters. How could you not?

OMG, I went to the fist post and H started thinking, he said there wasn't many. It appears that he might try it.

If you don't know I speak highly of you! I told him how you are my mentor. I've got other great news but I'm going to post it on the appropiate thread. It'll have to be a surprise!

Thanks again, Stugis, I appreciate the advice! We got a little ride time in today. I'm doing well teaching myself to ride the 650, 1st gear up and down the driveway! Not to bad, H said that he likes my willingness to learn so quickly. It's a challenge for me, being 4'11", weighing 123lbs.

I like being the little train you could! LOL

LA,

Thank you for keeping an eye out on me. Yes I think I am thriving personnally, I feel pretty good things seem to be going well at home, W seems to be warmin up and more comfortable.

I have been trying to give back, a little here and there. I hope you don't mind, I have been tooting your horn and this thread. The exercise you helped me with made a world of difference in my life. Also in my outlook on life. Soooo I feel the need to share when I recognize some of my less than desireable habits/traits in another poster and I am compelled to tell them about you and this thread. As you have probably seen I highly recommend this thread and the exercise, I had to think about some things I really didn't want to acknowledge, but once faced and acknowledged and accepted, I could improve and change them. As a result I think a happier me! It's all good.

Thank you LA! I'll keep updating as time marches on.

LA,

I've never seen this thread before....wow....this is incredible. I think you would love Steven Stosny's "Compassion is Power" series. My other recommendation is "Ethics for the New Millenium" by the Dalai Lama. I'm going to read the book you suggested at the beginning.

I myself have a hard time holding onto hate, or assigning it to a <person>. I tried to list those I hate....and all I can come up with those I "temporarily" hate and even then I was thinking "but I hate the behavior" really. Does that count? I can easily list behavior that I hate!

Star,

I'm thrilled you found this thread...

Would angers be closer than hate? What bites you when you someone doing something? What goes from your ears or eyes straight under your skin?

Can you list those?

Hi Loving:

Well, I did get BETWEEN PARENT AND CHILD but haven't started reading yet.

I've been working on NOT HELPING or FIXING and have learned that it really is a STRUGGLE....

I'm not sure if I should be IN on your thread or not...

I just browsed through it...

I did my INNER CHILD work years ago and think(?) I have lots of INSIGHT into the underlying causes of my personal issues of FIXAHOLISM and other isms..years of psychotherapy during a major depression about 10 years ago...was really into JOHN BRADSHAW..saw his workshop series on PBS..WONDERFUL!!!!

I'm really focusing on the PRESENT now..having fun..enjoying my present life...letting the PAST be the PAST and STAY IN THE PAST...Yucky stuff there...

But wanted to say "HEY" to ya....

I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

I've been watching your struggle with not fixing...you're very inspiring. Difficult? Oh, yeah...automatic stuff really is, isn't it?

You know what I think will stop your fixing?

Your humor. I believe I can see those automatic fixers come flying through your brain, normally out your confident (and well-glossed) mouth, suddenly hit the invisible door you're erecting, like cartoon smarty ducks going splat.

I see you laughing, Mimi, in that giggly freedom and open...with your curious, loving nature...to your H, his ideas, ways.

I do!

I see you smiling a lot at yourself, giving yourself a big squeeze for being respectful and free.

'Course, that could just be me...

Hi LA,

Have been reading a lot of your posts lately. I find a lot of what you say seems to hit the proverbial nail on the head for me.

Is it OK if I join this "class" ?
