I am so glad to know that things are working well in your life.

If there are any posters here who want to roll up their sleeves and do some hard but very rewarding "self" work... this thread can be theraputic. This thread is more about recovering "yourself" but in the process of recovering, I don't say recovered because it is an ongoing process... it can assist in changing other relationships in your life as well. The change begins with YOU. You learn you can't change others, BUT, when you change the way you act/react it does change the dynamics of how you interact with others.

If anyone happens upon this post or thread... the name of the "textbook" used for this course(thread) is called Healing the Shame That Binds You, by John Bradshaw. The name of the exercise from the book that this thread is titled after is "Owning All Your Villagers".

Although this thread hasn't been actively used for a long time... it's still here and if you post here the participants from this thread will come back... share... engage.

Eagle, when I reread this thread I am always awestruck by the courage and the raw honesty of the hearts of those who shared here.

LA (the course instructor) is an awesome teacher.
