Someone just told me today that "wierd is relative" so don't take too much offense 2long.

I heard it different. My cousins still talk about "our weird relative" and I think they mean me.

It sure helps on bad days, I can tell you that.

I think sometimes about all the pain in the world. I hope we can ease that here, even if only a little bit.

SS, you are not the wierd relative...you are the cool one!

Maybe the problem is that they don't know the definition of wierd and cool.

But I do.

Cool = SS
Wierd = 2long

But it's all good!

Weird?? <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Well, okay, they are! But then, so is ol' 2long! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

...but I'd trade either one of them in a New York Minute for one of these! (and believe me, I've been looking!):

2long -- SUPER COOL!! How fun!! I have no opinion about which you should choose... just admiring... <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I never had a VW either <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />, but I wanted a Karmin Ghia in the wooooooooorst way!

I loved my first car, though: A Toyota Corona 2-door sports coupe, thankyaverymuch! I called it Rod, for (ahem) Rod Stewart, not Hot Rod. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

FH, I also picture Twyla and Leilana in grass skirts. What does that say about ME! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

Rod Stewart nb? Couldn't it have been Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull or Aerosmith's Steven Tyler?

I mean come on girl.

Speaking of which, I have a house to clean...company coming, chastity belt key under the rock...oh yes, I remember, stuff to do. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I vote for the 1960 VW SingleCab Transporter 4x2.

Just because it's older and thus, more cool.

When I lived in Va. Beach in the mid '70s to mid '80s - home of Pat Robertson's CBN - and got evacuated from hurricane Gloria in Oct. 1985 before Pat was so kind to steer it away from shore*, I learned how the 700 Club got it's name.

To be a member you had to score less than 700 combined on your SATs.

* Of course, Gloria proceeded up the coast and hit Long Island. When asked why he didn't spare LI, Pat replied, "they're all Catholics."

It is fun. I love that bed, 2. 8.5' long by 5.5' wide, and right at "bench" height - perfect for using as a workbench for large sheets of plywood or drywall. 'course, if I restore it I wouldn't want 2 mess it up using it!

"Just because it's older and thus, more cool."

The Model A beats the doors off both of them agewise!

I'm in!!! ...'cept I wouldn't want 2 belong 2 any organization that would accept someone like me as a member!

I vote for the Tristar...more guts for traveling with your scopes.

In the early '70's I owned a '67 and '68 VW Squarebacks.
I bought one of them for $35 and sold it in Canada for $75 after driving it from ME to CA. The car went through a gal of oil every 500 miles on the way out and didn't have any brakes (except the emergency brake) by the time I got to San Francisco. It was insane driving up and down the hills in SF with oil on the clutch pressure plate and only the emerg. brake.

I HATE silver cars!

So, what's wrong with silver cars (from someone looking at getting a new, silver, car)?

My first car was a used '67 VW bus that I bought on the E. Coast and drove to the W. Coast with all my belongings including a black cat. Took 3 weeks. I painted that bus with a brush - turquoise, yellow, and red - and put a bed in the back that consisted of a piece of plywood resting on the engine compartment in back with 2X4 legs in front, foam on top, rugs on the floor to cover the salt-rotted metal floor. I even made pillows and curtains - can't remember how I did it because I don't sew... but that was the early 70's, which was still almost the 60's so I don't remember much... I can't remember much now, but for altogether different reasons!

I drove back and forth across country several more times in that bus, but without the cat, replaced the engine once, and nursed that car along for years... until someone I knew vaguely "borrowed" it without asking, drove it until the engine blew up, and left it out on the side of the hwy.

I was into Jim Morrison, myself...

Ah yes, the Jim. Don't even get me started.

I once read a book about the doors that was about a foot thick. He was a tad wierd, way too infatuated with death...and so shy he had to face the band when he sang, at first.

His dad was military, didn't get along with him and he left every thing to his girlfriend who had to live for three years without him to inherit it. And she didn't.

But don't get me started on the Door's...what about that organ player though?

LOL. You just had to come on didn't you...now I'll never get my house cleaned. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Hey, I say ANY excuse not to clean the house... and I live in a travel trailer.

I really don't know any more about Jim Morrison than what I saw in the Val Kilmer movie. I just played The Doors album, Waiting for the Sun, and Strange Days on my little box record player sitting on the floor while I did my homework in high school, along with the Lovin' Spoonful, Blood, Sweat & Tears, and, of course, the Beatle... and my room was a mess then, too.

OK Weaver, Get back to work! I'm going to go exercise before Curves closes.

2long, at 6 pages and counting, it doesn't look like you'll be leaving here anytime soon...
