From Penalty Kill

lifes2short, you say that you need wise counsel. I think that is very true. Have you tried counseling?

From reading your story, it seems that you have latched onto your BIL as a kind of fantasy....a ticket to a better life for yourself. Since you have little contact with your BIL, you probably have very limited knowledge of what he is really like.

If I may: my former BIL was also a self-made millionaire. To the outside world, he had it all. You should have seen how packed his funeral was, and listened to his eulogies.

One week later, his wife, my SIL, found that he had been leading a double life, complete with drugs and prostitutes. This life had gone on for a decade. She didn't know - most people didn't know. His entire family was in the dark, including his in-laws.

So, this man who had it all, died in a wh*rehouse.

Now I am not saying that your BIL is like this. But you seem to be captivated by the most shallow things about him...his money and status. I am not hearing about what a wonderful person your BIL is.

Could it be that you just wish your H were more of a go-getter, that you had more toys? Some counseling might help you unravel what is truly important to you.

Somehow I don't think that it's your BIL. I don't even think that it's your H. I think that it's something that YOU are missing. Why not make a search and find out what it is?

Good luck to you.

Worthatry.
I am sooo disappointed in you. I have been following your posts to lizzy and really admired your advice and wisdom, I looked up your story from way back then when you were having your own problems and lost your child etc. I really thought you were together and a learned adviser. I was wrong, you are a smart a** who has little compassion and can't see the forrest for the trees, maybe I'm not elequant (?)enough for you.

Or, I am as wise as you first thought and I'm hitting a little too close to home for you.

as it is we are not financially strapped, and this is purely because I have some drive and ambition as previously mentioned.

Is your H lack of "drive and ambition" what is really missing from your relationship? "Needs"

It's difficult to live with a person with no motivation or drive when you want to better yourself

How difficult is it to live with someone who is never satisfied?

I need to say also that my H IS a really great guy most of the time. When things were good, I was very happy on a basic level in the relationship.
When things were good did your husband have drive and ambition and just loose it?

My questions and others that have posted are trying to get you to look at what are you really needing from your husband. Is it about money? Is it about an attraction for another man? Or is it about a loss of nurturing and love for each other?

it seems your husband and your sister mean nothing to you

what a great gal you must be!

you are NOT in an abusive relationship....so don't expect support for ending your marriage

Ok, this thread startled me at first, because I thought this was our regular member, Life2short. But I can see this is someone different. A junior member, Life(s)2short.

Boy, that one, small letter almost did it! Wheeew! What a relief! <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />
