I haven't said anything, because I thought this was going to be another no show for WH. But 10 days ago, he wrote me a letter apologizing and saying he wanted to make a financial agreement and get it over.
He told me he would call the following week, and then he didn't call. So I just ignored the letter. Yesterday, when I got home from church, he was waiting at my house. We had a nice talk. I told him I have forgiven him and hope that he and OW have a nice life together.
But I remained steadfast that I refused to let him have our home, and move her in. I don't care to see her living across the street from me.
I have kept meticulous records. I showed them to WH - the money he took out of our savings, his retirement, the money I spent on things that we had agreed that he pay, the costs of fixing up our home, and what he owes my son.
The surprise is that he agreed. I told him I would leave his retirement alone, forgive the money he has blown, but I want our home, and his 2003 Harley. He got furious. So I told him it was a waste of time talking, and his attorney and mine would work it out. He left.
Well, lo and behold, this morning at 6:oo AM, WH came over with his Harley, and the papers, and the papers on our home. He signed them and asked if I was happy now. I felt like telling him no, but bit my tongue and said yes.
What a relief! I never dreamed it would turn out this good. Right now, I'm waiting for the OW's husband to come home from work. I left him a note that I have something for him. I had planned all along to give him the Harley. In all of this he was the one who lost the most. He was fighting for our country in Iraq when the affair happened. He came home to no wife, no job, and a daughter to raise by himself.

Maybe you should file, notarize or otherwise set these papers in legal concrete before giving the Harley to the BH. Just to be rock bottom sure.
Oh, ‘bout time, huh.

{{{{{Believer}}}}} You rock big time and I am soooo happy for you that this is finally over. I didn't realize that the OW was a neighbor. And what a sweety you are to give OW's H the Harley. I'm sure your H is gonna LOVE that! You have a heart of gold and I'm wishing you the very best! I'm so glad I happened to be on GQ today! HUGS! CV

Aphelion - I already have a financial agreement that WH wrote up, but refused to sign, two years ago. It was from a different attorney, but I took the signed copy to my attorneys office today. Unfortunately, he was in court, but I left it there.
I took off work because I was so excited. My son was off because of the rain. He cleared out our shed so the bike would fit, and it is safely locked up. OW's husband will need to get insurance and the papers in his name, because the bike is paid for. So it will probably stay locked up for a day or too. But I am so excited, I just have to share the good news.
CV55 - Yep, she was a neighbor. That's how they met. My WH was walking our dog, and she was out on the porch crying about her husband being in Iraq. He stopped to comfort her, and that is how it began.

Congrats
Maybe you should have OWexH write you a check for $1 as the transaction may need documentation and you could later frame with a picture of him on the bike. At least you'd have a wonderful conversational piece and a picture to post on the MB photo thread.
God bless you,
Mr. Wondering

Giving the Harley to the OW husband is the most selfless act I have heard of. You must really have a heart of gold. I am sorry that your marriage ended, but you sound like a survivor.

Mr. W - I will find out tomorrow the best way to transfer the bike. I want it to be legal with no problems.
Lost - It's kind of strange. My WH had wanted the anniversary year Harley for the last 5 years. It was his dream to just go to the dealer and pick one out. He has 2 other bikes, but had never bought a new one.
I started saving money and working OT a couple of years before. I wanted to surprise him. As it turned out, we went together to a bunch of dealers, and picked it out. That was about a month before his affair. In fact, I have only ridden on the bike once.
After D-day, he told friends that we were getting divorced because I never supported his love of motorcycles. What a slap in the face!!!!
I work for the military, and have always admired the sacrifices that our warfighters make. The OW's husband went and did his duty. He came back to a changed life. I think he deserves something.
By the way, he just called. He has to take his daughter to pick up a dress for a dance. He asked what I had for him, and I told him it was nothing too exciting. He will stop by in another hour or so.

Haha Piojitos, pop those anti-D's. You can see the picture of the Harley on the MB photo album.
I have no use for it. It has too many bad memories. I do have 2 boys that would love it, but I would be too afraid of their safety.
Plus it has the stench of the OW. I can smell it now.

R u OK if he just takes the bike and sells it???
Might you want to condition the "gift" on that whenever he does sell it, be it one year, or 10 years from now that he split the proceeds with you or something.
Just a quick thought.

I had a 2001 FLHRCI with the 1550 big bore engine. Ran straight pipes. It was rolling thunder. At night I could get flames out the right side pipe about two feet long. I lost about 10 Hp for the straight pipes but it was worth it. When I really needed that power (for a long ride), I would stick the mufflers back in albeit with the packing removed. I got that down to a science. 5 minute job. I sold it because I did not like the fuel injection. It just did not have the sound I wanted.
Road King. Best ride Harley makes. I miss mine. I like the look of the Deuce but not the ride. I like the new Road King Custom - really retro. I am tempted to get one but instead am planning to get a chopper built in Dubai. There is an Arab there named Hadi that does brilliant work.

Mr W, Believer,

And, on the condition that he must sell it to me!
My taker is making noises...deep chest throbbing Harley rumblings in fact.

Mr. W - I don't care what he does with it. But I think he will keep it. He is a car mechanic, and races stock cars in his spare time. He does ride motorcycles, and was planning to buy one with his combat pay. Sadly, he came back to no job, no wife, and a daughter to raise.
Piojitos - Don't worry. WH still has a custom Ultra chopper, and a 1973 FLH, and also a 1965 Triumph. He will be just fine.
He used to ride to Laughlin and Stugis for the Bike Week every year. At Laughlin, you could test-drive the different bikes, and we always spent a day doing that. The Road King is perfect for 2 people, touring, camping, etc. That is why we wanted it.

Aphelion - You might want to take a couple of pills - it works for Piojitos.
Pepsi - Yep, 3 and a half years. And I never hoped that it would turn out this good.

Well, he came over, and asked what was up. I told him I had something for him, and went to the shed and opened the door. Right away he saw the Harley, and asked me why WH's bike was back. Then I told him.
He couldn't believe it. He just kept saying, no, no, no.
Then he told me that was the best trade he ever made, his ex-wife for a Harley!
