Now that you've "started" to do things for yourself, start turning a lot of the "i" to "my daughter and I". In other words, do things together as a "family" even if it means just you and her. In her eyes, YOU ARE her family and hero.
Good luck gekko. You've acknowledged your mistakes. We all make them. But your love for your daughter shows.
Enjoy her....before you know it, you'll be walking her down that aisle...

i get your point star
on my thursday on my off week, my daughter and i do something over the top fun like two hours at a park or carousel rides at the mall and then eat chicken nuggets or mac n cheese. then we sleep in on friday mornings, fix pancakes and take her to school much later than usual.
my daughter and i both are involved in my church. vacation bible school, craft days, etc.
our weekend together are the two of us 24/7. i don't leave her with other people and do stuff myself. we do everything together. we have activities that we chart. potty training became fun, although that was over a couple of months ago.
i like being around her and center my entire schedule around when i get her.
I wish I could say something classy and inspirational, but that just wouldn't be (my) style. Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory... lasts forever.
