Sorry to hear your story, Hiker. It sounds similar to mine in a lot of respects, but in my case the OM isn't such an obvious villain. I really appreciate your posts and insights.

There's a Randy Newman song with a lyric that really stuck with me. The song is actually about a town but has many lines that seem to fit my situation:
You never see it coming,
when the world caves in on you.
Well, I've learned some valuable lessons. Some day I'll probably sit down at the computer and write many of them out.

That part of your posts spoke to me. Out of the blue, no idea that it was even possible. I honestly thought I would have been more likely to have an affair, but I never considered someone seducing her. But bam, she's mentally checked out in Affairland and she never came back. Wouldn't quit her job, never got over him emotionally, and then started the affair back up. All of a sudden, a year has gone by, and I'm still wondering what hit me.

I am still in shock 9 months after discovery. This was my dreamgirl. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. It was a good feeling to come home and see her smile. My, how things have changed!
This time last year I knew something was wrong but I couldn't put my finger on it. When I go shopping for gifts now, those happy Christmas songs playing in the mall seem to be mocking me.
