Wonder why that boy didnt know at age 17?

I wonder why your W didn't know it was wrong at age 30 something, and with a loving husband and four children at home.

Asked my MIL that very question in the middle of the affair.

Of course, that didnt go over well!!

I just made the comment there because too many want to think that teenagers are just too young to understand. They understand. We give them too little credit...and blame!

Added to that...in the military, I used to get all of these new soldiers, 18 year olds, fresh from their momma's home. And I tell you...sometimes I wonder what is going on out there. Many of the problems with these guys...I didnt blame them as much as I blamed their parents.

But in the end...they still are responsible for their own actions...even if their parents screwed up.

One of the biggest issues I am having is that she overstepped her boundaries as a teacher. That is why she has a teacher's license. The state, district, and the school trust that she won't have an A with the students that are in that school.

My question is this the BH knew that the WW was having A with a student who was a minor at the time when the affair started. Why didn't he report his WW to the school district when it was obvious what she was doing was against state and district policies and also against the law? In reality he had knowledge that his wife was committing statutory rape (a felony) and decided to take the law into his own hands. As we can see he failed miserably and will pay a high price for his WW's actions.

What happens in the military if a drill sergeant sleeps with one of his cadets who's in basic training?

Mys

I can answer that question (I spent 5 years in the military). This married company commander was messing with some female recruits who were in holding company. Holding company is basically where they put people who were in a transitional status (medical holds, waiting on PCS orders, waiting to separate from military, etc). He got into a lot of trouble and was awaiting a court martial as I was leaving boot camp. Never found out what happened, but they removed him from his position as soon as the sexual liasions surfaced.

What yanks my chain is the WW is the one that is going to suffer the least amount of consequences.

OM dead. BS, going to trial, then possibly jail for a long while.

I refuse to think the 17-18 year old boy didn't know what he was doing.

Everyone knows that being cheated on sucks. Even at that age. Everyone knows that an affair is wrong. Even at that age.

He was a brazen little punk sitting outside a married womans home while her husband was home.

Even if I were a FWS I would say that.

So he becomes a statistic. One out of every x OP gets killed by a jealous BS. It happens, and it is something every OP should think about.

You are playing with fire, if you get burned you are just another statistic of infidelity.

OP get their rocks off with the taboo of being with a married person. It strokes the OP's ego that an WS would chose them when they were married. Here is the down side, it could be a death sentence.

If you make the choice beware the consequences.

I am not saying it was right but it should be expected to a certain extent.

Temporary insanity - a good lawyer will get him off with the right jury. The more female BS on it the better.

When I think back now, I realise I may have been temporarily insane to some degree for a while after each D-Day of the VLTA. These were very confusing, overwhelming and depressive/manic periods. I hurt no one, thank God, but I could have if the opportunity had presented itself at the right time and in the right way.

In fact, if OM had shown up at my house and tried to get in I very well may have gone out to his car with my 12 gauge. And what could have happened then is anyone's guess.

ed: If he had only shot OM while he was at the door and then drug him a bit inside he would not be under any indictment at all. That he did not do this is evidence of temporary insanity right there.

again.....i am just in SHOCK over how people HOLD the OP responsible for their WH or WW's CHOICE.
it's crazy to me.

is anyone ouit there a shrink? what does this say about people??

I dont hold the OP responsible for what the WP does...I hold the OP responsible for what they do!!

And for being incredibly stupid!!!!

i never said any OP shouldn't be help responsible....I just don't think incredibly stupid people should
be shot and killed.

jeez....i wonder what is wrong w/ me???
I must be a liberal or something!

One more thing...I have handed weapon systems capable of killing hundreds of people at a time to 17 and 18 year olds and made them responsible for using them the right way. If I can trust them to do that...why are they too young to understand what adultery is?

now I am really confused.......WHO said "they" are too young to understand what adultery is?

I didn't say that.
just because I don't think the boy desreved to die and i don't hold a boy as responsible as the WW, does not mean that I think anyone under 17 is too young to understand adultery.

Yes it bothers me that the WW will suffer the least. Just like you OP has become a statistic, the BS has become a statistic also. The BS now like another Betty Broderick. He will most likely serve a long prison sentence. If and when he gets out of prison we will forever have the felony conviction for life. In the meantime while he is serving his prison sentence his WW will be out doing whatever she wants with whoever and their will be nothing the BS can do about it.

Had the BH reported her from the beginning to the school district when it first happened I am pretty sure this tragedy would have never happened. Instead it would have been the WW who would have experienced the wrath of the justice system and had to register as a sex offender. But he made the choice to handle it his own way. The problem is that the justice system doesn't agree with this. If he is convicted and receives a long prison sentence, he will be sitting in prison 10 years later wondering why he threw everything for a woman who couldn't stay faithful to him and probably won't be faithful while he is in prison.

Mary Kay LeTourneau and other WW teachers have had their husbands or others turn them in upon discovering the affair. I am pretty sure they were very hurt and ashamed in the beginning, but eventually they moved on. I heard Mary K's ex-husband is now remarried and living his own life. It is kind of hard to move on when you are sitting in a jail cell.

So I ask again what if the kid was 13,14, or 15 years old? I think the issue a lot of people are failing to realize is that the WW overstepped her professional boundaries when she started this A and was committing a criminal act. I have very little respect for sexual predators and that is what the WW is.

So - to answer your question, I'd like to think I raised my son better than to get involved with a married woman, sleep in his car in front of her house and then try to barge into her home to see her while her husband is present.

No..that doesn't answer the question.

You CANNOT be sure of what your child does. IF he did something like that, would you be rallying for the BH?

Like others have stated, I find that there is an abundance of misdirected anger in these situations.

I don't think the kid deserved to die either. But I do think anyone that had knowledge of this affair should have turned the WW into the school district.

Who is protecting our kids in these schools from these predators that masquerade as educators?

I don't know this story except what I've read here. That being said, I have 3 sons. I can see both sides of the argument regarding an 18 yr old boy vs.a 28 yr old. A 17 yr. old knows that "fooling around" with his teacher is wrong. However, we don't know if she preyed on him and misused her position. I would say that she was an authority figure, she is wrong and accountable no matter what. If the boy preyed on her thinking it was cool, she was the adult and I would think know how to handle this and put the proper boundaries in place. If he was the victim or the aggressor, same answer, up to the teacher to manage this situation for the boy's best interest. That didn't happen here.

When I drop my 16 yr. old off at the high school I see how many of the young teenage girls dress to go to school, very sexy and they look much older than their age. I would expect that the male teachers look at them as students in their adult charge, no matter what. We cannot blame the victim here, it isn't right.

The adults in this situation had options and instead made bad choices. The BS in this situation should be held accountable for taking this young man's life, his wife did to begin with and he finished the job. So terrible and sad.

You hit the nail on the head. I think the problem is that people are only looking at this from a BS point of view. But the facts are that the WW overstepped not only marital boundaries, but professional boundaries. When we drop our children off at school we have certain expectations of the teacher. The teachers are in a position of authority, when a teacher starts an affair with a student it compromises that position of authority.

I feel sorry for the kid, because I am pretty sure he didn't fully understand the magnititude of the situation. All one has to do is look at similar situations involving teachers. It seems lately we have heard a lot of stories about female teachers starting affair with their students. Most of the BH usually turn their WW in, because they realize that she is the one who is ultimately responsible and held the position of authority. They don't go around killing the OP.

that is pretty much how i feel personally.

even as a BS.
I, personally would have killed my H before OP. He was the one who betrayed me.

obviously, many people here would do the opposite...i am not sure what that means, but it scares me.

I am finding a lot of misdirected anger also.

Why no anger over the fact that we have "so-called educators" who think it is okay to engage in A with their students that they have been entrusted with?

Why no anger over the fact that the WW went against school district and state policies and committed statutory rape?

Why no anger over the fact that the WW not only committed a felony, but is a sex offender?

I will continue to ask why didn't anyone report her to the school district when the A was first discovered.

ONCE AGAIN YOU PEOPLE ARE IGNORING THE LAW! THIS CHILD WAS RAPED... DO YOU FRIGGING GET THAT? HE WAS RAPED! BY THE TIME THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED, HE HAD TURNED 18... BUT THIS WAS GOING ON FOR A YEAR WITH HIS TEACHER... THAT MEANS HE WAS RAPED!
MM, I am shocked at the callous way that you are speaking of this. If this kid in any way shape or form had this coming to him... well, an ADULT (like your wife) should be drawn and quartered. Look I can see that the BH flipped... been there myself wanting to kill someone (and might have given the right circumstances... God knows I have the means and know how)... but I will be damned if I am going to ignore the fact that this kid was raped. There are some things more important than adultery folks! Ruining the morals of a minor... yes, corrupting the morals of a minor would be one crime she was charged with... CORRUPTING HIS MORALS...and using your position of authority to have sexual relatsions with the child would be one of those things.
If ANYONE deserves to get whacked here it is the WW and for that matter any WS (including yours MM) using the logic that is being used here.
This man will go to jail and he should. He most likely will go for voluntary manslaughter and not 1st degree murder... but his actions DO fit the standard for 1st degree murder.

That is what I was thinking. I would have did a "Clara Harris" and killed my H also. The person who I would have been received the bullets is the person who betrayed me.

i read about another female teacher who was convicted this week..... record sentence....something like 10 years...can't find the link now....but she was married and was having an sex w/ a kid about 14.

her lawyer was upset because the sentence was so extreme....said the average sentence in a case like this was....18 months!

it was a big joke online.
some said she was deserved such a high sentence (and others didn't) because she was chubby and unattractive....and not blonde.
there were some very cruel comments.

we live in a very sick world.

Be even better if it scared the adultery out of you.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

medc,

Maybe your state is different, but where I grew up and where I live now (far West) one is legally entitled to use deadly force to protect their home. From anyone at any time.

All you have to do is convince the system you reasonably assumed you needed to. It is especially easy when inside the house. The benefit of the doubt is given to the person who lives there.

I wonder if they will do an autopsy on the boy. If they find any drugs or alcohol that will also make a big difference, both to the authorities and to a jury.

That is exactly how I feel if had that much rage to kill the OP, he should have turned the gun around and killed the person who was ultimately reponsible and betrayed him the WW. I hope he goes to prison.
