I don't know this story except what I've read here. That being said, I have 3 sons. I can see both sides of the argument regarding an 18 yr old boy vs.a 28 yr old. A 17 yr. old knows that "fooling around" with his teacher is wrong. However, we don't know if she preyed on him and misused her position. I would say that she was an authority figure, she is wrong and accountable no matter what. If the boy preyed on her thinking it was cool, she was the adult and I would think know how to handle this and put the proper boundaries in place. If he was the victim or the aggressor, same answer, up to the teacher to manage this situation for the boy's best interest. That didn't happen here.
When I drop my 16 yr. old off at the high school I see how many of the young teenage girls dress to go to school, very sexy and they look much older than their age. I would expect that the male teachers look at them as students in their adult charge, no matter what. We cannot blame the victim here, it isn't right.
The adults in this situation had options and instead made bad choices. The BS in this situation should be held accountable for taking this young man's life, his wife did to begin with and he finished the job. So terrible and sad. I went to a private high school....many of our the teachers were just out of college...22-24. I know several girls who ended up dating (and some even marrying their teachers) and i also know about several affair w/ married teachers. I had a young married teacher call me and try to date me for months. i never dated him and i felt 'funny" about the situation but i was a little flattered at the time. I also know of a particular female teacher who "initiated" several senior boys a year...to her credit...she always waited 'till they turned 18 before she consumated the "affair". she's now the principal of that school. it never occured to me when i was in school that I should have reported anything. guess i should have been shot for being so stupid!

medc,
Maybe your state is different, but where I grew up and where I live now (far West) one is legally entitled to use deadly force to protect their home. From anyone at any time.
All you have to do is convince the system you reasonably assumed you needed to. It is especially easy when inside the house. The benefit of the doubt is given to the person who lives there.
I wonder if they will do an autopsy on the boy. If they find any drugs or alcohol that will also make a big difference, both to the authorities and to a jury. sorry, your interpretation of the law is incorrect. He was holding a gun... there was NO REASONABLE fear for his life...NONE... wouldn't be if the kid was in his front door (and BTW, the kid COULD BE THERE LEGALLY IF THE WIFE WANTED HIM THERE... sucks, but it is true). It doesn't matter what state in the union you live... this law is consistent across the country. Eta... you come home... your wife has invited her lover in the house and has sex with him. YOu tell the OP to leave... he doesn't... do you have a legal right to kill him? NO? I probably would... but he was invited into the home...and therefore is not trespassing or breaking any law.

ONCE AGAIN YOU PEOPLE ARE IGNORING THE LAW! THIS CHILD WAS RAPED... DO YOU FRIGGING GET THAT? HE WAS RAPED! BY THE TIME THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED, HE HAD TURNED 18... BUT THIS WAS GOING ON FOR A YEAR WITH HIS TEACHER... THAT MEANS HE WAS RAPED! MM, I am shocked at the callous way that you are speaking of this. If this kid in any way shape or form had this coming to him... well, an ADULT (like your wife) should be drawn and quartered. Look I can see that the BH flipped... been there myself wanting to kill someone (and might have given the right circumstances... God knows I have the means and know how)... but I will be damned if I am going to ignore the fact that this kid was raped. There are some things more important than adultery folks! Ruining the morals of a minor... yes, corrupting the morals of a minor would be one crime she was charged with... CORRUPTING HIS MORALS...and using your position of authority to have sexual relatsions with the child would be one of those things. If ANYONE deserves to get whacked here it is the WW and for that matter any WS (including yours MM) using the logic that is being used here. This man will go to jail and he should. He most likely will go for voluntary manslaughter and not 1st degree murder... but his actions DO fit the standard for 1st degree murder. You know I keep asking 2 questions that these MM don't want to answer. Why didn't he turn his wife into the school district? What if the OP was 13,14, or 15? I still haven't gotten an answer. They must feel that no matter who old the child is or if the WW was in a position of authority doesn't matter, the OP is still completely responsible. It doesn't matter that the WW is a sexual offender.
RIP FKM (1982-2006) you are sorely missed by your wife, children, family, and a whole host of friends. You were with us only a short time, but touched our lives so much.

And APH, you seem to be ignoring the rape and corruption of a minor part too.

I hope he doesn't. Well if the WW invited him, guess who will be serving a long prison sentence. I will give you a hint it won't be the WW. Why didn't he turn the gun on his "sexual offender going-against-school policy" WW? I mean she is also committing a crime.

I mean she is also committing a crime. She was not committing a crime at this time... she was when he was being raped as a minor.

The boy was 17 then 18.
Now at 18 years of age the government says he is old enough to go to war.
So by law if she hand SF with him before 18 it was statutory rape.
After he turned 18 no law was being broken.
He went to the couple house. Why????????
The questions about going to the school board. Maybe they couldn't afford for her to lose her job. Maybe he didn't want to be the butt of a whole bunch of national jokes.
BAd enough your wife is screwing around but we know about all the other teachers. It is national news.
I certainly wouldn't want that.
So a punk kid who is screwing my wife decides to come to my door. Then when I call 911 go back to his car.
How about stalking. That is what it seems like to me.
The kid is dead. That is what happens to a certain amount of OP's that screw married people. They get killed by the BS.
Next time a person decides to mess with a married person they should think about that.
BS 38 FWW 35 D Day 10/03 Recovery started 11/06 3 boys 12, 8 and a new baby
When life hands you lemons make lemonade then try to find the person life hands vodka and have a party.

Corrupting the morals of a minor... you act as though the corruption of his morals had no impact on him as a person.
