If you ever are lucky enough to find yourself in Fort Worth, all the locals go to Railhead Smokehouse at Montgomery and I 30...
Might as well make a day of it and go to the Fort Worth Stockyards... Exchange St... Risky's is right there in the thick of it (bar b q ).... a few fun saloons too....
The only Ninfa's I think left is near Six Flags in Arlington... I love their green sauce...

Mount Zion BBQ in little ole' Hunstsville, TX (site of Hunstsville Unit/death row prison where executions take place).
Used to work for TX Dept. of CJ right next to the convicts...ahh, the memories, lol!

The bluebonnets are in bloom right now, in the Hill Country of Texas.
Spectacular.
You will never see anything like it anywhere else on earth.
Only in Texas.
SB SB - My grandfather used to paint pictures of bluebonnets. He lived in the DFW area, but would come to the hill country to get ideas for his pictures. I've a HUGE painting of the bluebonnets over my dining room table. In my house, the bluebonnets are ALWAYS in bloom thanks to Grandpa Charlie. (quiet thankful tear) Now, when they are blooming, I always say, "Grandpa Charlie would've loved them this year." And this year I said it again...and it's true...they are so lovely...all waving in the breeze with an occasional black eyed susan, indian paintbrush or indian blanket thrown in here or there. (sniff) I love it here.

Hey Dealan Isn't there still a Ninfas off of 183 and 35? And I absolutley love love love Chuy's creamy jalapeno sauce!!!! Verde sauce - yes, that is what is it called.. going to look to see if I can find a suitable recipe... yummmm

If you're talking BBQ, don't forget Rudy's "Country Store and Bar-B-Q" in Leon Springs (a few miles from SAT). A couple years ago, a documentary on BBQ shown on (A&E??) listed Rudy's as one of the premier BBQ restaurants in the country, which is to say, the world. I can vouch for it. It's truly world class. I took a trip from SAT up to Mable Falls yesterday and U.S. 281 is absolutely a gorgeous drive. The record breaking rain in March has set us up for a great spring. On the other hand, summer is just around the corner. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
