where i live you don't find a date. for crying out loud i am dating someone from georgia and i live in ny!
in a small town the pickins are slim. it all would be good if i wanted a beer chugging lumberjack. or a womanizing volunteer fireman (oh wait a minute, i was already married to him)
if i wanted someone elses husband, well that seems to be the game that gets played here. and i don't play it.
if it weren't for my good gekko, i probably would not be with anyone serious right now!

Get online. It's a volume thing. There are many people looking that you would never meet. And if you are concerned, try eharmony or chemistry.com to find more suitable dates.
A friend treated it as work. For example, she'd email 12 people, talk to 6 different people, in order to meet 1 or 2. Think of it as a job interview.
It could be fun.

So...
gg, what was the result of your sister smiling and making eye contact?
And...
newly, what was the end result of all that "work" for your friend?

Let's Try, when my sister smiled and made eye contact, men started to approach her. Before, in spite a being beautiful, she didn't have a lot of dates. She still doesn't have tons, but now she's got opportunities for them.

This plan has holes. First of all, tradesmen? They work sporadically, make a medium level income, and drink a lot, and usually like threir women with "target" tattoos and pole skills.
Church, grocery store, ball parks. That's your holy trinity of meeting places. All three contain quality folk, esp among the male variety, and they represent the scope of socioeconomic possibilities. That was a Disrespectful Judgment if I ever saw or read one.

Last Wed, baseball training for my son (5,5), I learnt that daddy of one of little players is single dad... too much younger than me (doesn't look he minds though...)
Told you, they are everywhere <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

You definitely must go out and meet a lot of people. I'm a man and I've been very intrigued several times by women in the grocery store of even in the garden department of a big box home center. I just never know when to ask for a phone number. I have yet to have a woman approach me, which I feel is a generational thing, i.e. women in my generation are conditioned to be non-aggressive towards men. And us men, who have certainly been rejected many times, become a bit more used to rejection than the average woman, but still don't enjoy the feeling of rejection.
I've almost gone back a couple times, but have yet to do so.
My online experiences (Match.com) were disappointing at best. You are ultimately limited to your market-size in the online world. If you're in NYC, there may be thousands of potential matches. In a smaller market in the mid-west, you see the same people over and over again, particularly if you restrict your driving range.

Just make sure he isn't screaming at his kid to not throw like a girl or not to strike out. Good luck. Then hit the grovery store, you'll score big there too, *wink*.

Yeah, that's it...you find dates at the grocery store.....I was gonna say that. But, I thought someone would accuse me of being corny or nuts. I guess it would be true - because I am a chip off the old block. I might get canned if I tell you that. I would not want you to think I'm too saucy....just a little spicy. Maybe I'm sugary as a cupcake. After all, I have a cheesy grin.

Cinder, orange you a peach (where did she go anyway?)! I offer a toast, not a roast, to Cinder who's grade A choice for trying to Cheer us up with her buns, I mean puns, when she see how we waffle between passing the bubbly and crying in our beer.
