I'll let you know how that works out next week when school is out!!!
I do have a legit reason to be there as my dad and I are turning part of the garage into a family great room!!!!
So it's not as if I am just trolling for men! But I am sure it will be hot out that day and I will have to have the shorts and tank on!!! Ok maybe to much mature flab to be attractive, but if they would just get to know me!!!!! I can't even get to the part where they ask my name!!!! I suck at this flirting/dating thing!

In our dating ranges, the men also have their own "mature flab".

In our dating ranges, the men also have their own "mature flab". wrong - I'm almost 37 years old and I just had a check up at the doctor - 5'8" 167lbs bp=115/85, cholesterol=172 Good thread people. Best in months. Females should hit the home improvement stores and try the Lawn and Garden section. Even rich guys like to work in the yard.
I wish I could say something classy and inspirational, but that just wouldn't be (my) style. Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory... lasts forever.

Ah, yes, Gekko, but you are taken. As the good ones are.
And you are my height, so you'd be out of my dating universe.
Have any tall friends you can send my way (in the Northeast, not Hotlanta)?

The thread has been fun, definately thought that I was the only one out there having dating issues!!!! I am not and that is good to know!!!!
As far as the mature flab, I lost 125 lbs about 5 years ago and I am pass the age of 40 so I do have the flab that hangs from my arms when I wave, so maybe I won't wave at guys I'll just wink, well I'll try, it's hard to control the twitch in my left eye sometimes!!!! That comes from being mom to three children and grandmother to three plus having my own parents living across the street!!!
Maybe the twitch and all that goes with it is what is scaring the guys off and not the flab!!!!
Oh Well!!!!

major accomplishment daybreak, the weight loss. i can sure appreciate that one. i have struggle up and down the stupid scale my whole life. i have lost about 60 pounds so far and am still going. was in a bit of a stand still for quite some time, bouncing up and down the same few pounds, but i seem to be back on track again. gained weight the last 4 years of my marriage after he sucked the life and self esteem out of me... working my way back down to my size 10's! and dammit, i WILL get there if it kills me!

m-good job!!! 60 pounds is awesome!!! I have struggled with 20 for the last year, but found out that the gym has a family room where they took an old racquetball court and put equip ment in 2/3rd of it and kiddie stuff and a TV in the other third with a glass fence so you can see them and they can see you!!! So guess where me and my boys are going this week!!!! I missed working out but couldn't find the time in helping my daughter with the boys, but know they can go with grandma Dawn, there cute maybe they will attract some attention for me!!!!

i was going to the gym but my membership ended and i can't afford to renew right now. plus, it was 40 minutes away and with gas prices what they are....
so, i walk an hour a day and am doing pilates 30 minutes a day. i added these "sweat band" things i got from avon. they are made by curves and you strap them on your thighs, arms, and waist while you workout and they make you sweat more in those areas, plus i added hand weights to my pilates workout so i am not sure if what i am doing is even pilates anymore! lol but it is something.
i will be honest, i will always have to be concious of what i eat and to be sure i get in excercise everyday because when i don't... i swear, i can gain a pound just dreaming about eating bad stuff! :-(
oh to be one of those lucky one who has a high metabolism and could eat whatever i wanted and not have to excercise and just stay a twig...
so glad gekko likes curves! cuz i sure got em.

Karona ~ just wanted to say a quick hello! Haven't "seen" you here and wondered how you were doing.
gekko ~ 37!?! I'm 55 so we all interpret "in our dating range" a bit differently!
I lost 40 pounds on the infidelity diet and have managed to keep 30 of it off for the past 6 1/2 years with regular exercise, but there's only so much you can do with 55 year old skin!

I never knew it until last week but you are absolutely right about Home Depot. You wouldn't believe how many nice guys I met in the parking lot! I bought this big awkward board and had to put in on one of those cart things to get it to the car. 2 guys offered to help there. I can push a cart, plus I have a BF so I said no thanks but told them both what a good job their mothers did with them. Then I'm trying to get the darned thing in my mini-van and it might have fit if I tweaked it just right but maybe not, so I'm struggling and laughing at myself for being such a spaz.
Well, a guy comes over from 3 rows away to help me. That doesn't happen at the grocery store (unless maybe there is a serious cart shortage), I mean the guy was 3 rows away! Turns out the thing won't go in the car, so I push the cart and the board back and get more offers of assistance...these are not Home Depot employees either. They are just nice, helpful men.
I had to go home and borrow a bigger car so when I return, it starts all over again. And yes, this was about 10:30 on weekday morning near the contractor's entrance. So yes, you can meet men at Home Depot and you don't even have to go in the place!

So I was at Lowe's yesterday trying to find a 90 deg hose bib adapter (yeah, right, good luck, I'm gonna be making my own)... So as I stand there looking puzzled, this pretty tall woman is walking down the aisle with the same clueless look as me... I see no ring, so I thinks "hey, I should offer to help her find her stuff, given that I know home improvement better than any of these Lowe's clowns). Then I realize that I was looking more lost than she, and I was speechless. By the time I came up with a line ("well, now I don't feel alone being clueless"), she was long gone. Figures.

Good,
I usually find the clueless looking guy at the grocery store not at the hardware store!
Good you looked for the ring first. It's amazing how those pop out at you, never had thought about while married, it was just part of the vows!

She probably found some equipment to test drive in the parking lot. Let's just hope she picked up some sheathing before getting nailed by some stranger's homemade hose bib adapter.

Maybe, but I didn't see any better equipment in the parking lot than was right there in the aisle with her. But if she is the kind of gal who prefers nailing her sheathing over screwing it, then she is not for me anyway. So no big loss I guess . AGG

maybe she wasn't interested in being nailed or screwed... maybe she just wanted a self run power tool instead..

Hey AGG, that would be a good one for candid camera. Some stud (sorry it's just too easy) in the p-lot is approached by mlhb who bats her eyes and asks him to show her the difference between nailing and screwing. Then she can offer up her hose adapter if he needs it!
Dawn, I'm glad you started this thread. I have a single friend of who is dying to meet someone but won't do the online thing. Now I have lots of suggestions for her.
