Beau & Chrisner's Beer Drinking & Mountain Peeing Tour of Colorado Chapter III – Living A Dream
Ok, maybe I suck a little. I’ve let too much time pass and I can’t remember ALL of the details from the rest of the trip. So Chris, you’re gonna have to help a brotha out.
Day 3 was the trip to Breckenridge. I remember heading for the Mts and before we were even out of Denver my ears starting popping. Once we were in the Mts the scenery was unbelievable. Every so many miles we’d pass some little Mtn town and instead of population signs there were elevation signs. It seemed like every community had a working or abandoned mine and the communities were in strips b/c they were sandwiched between the road and the mtn side. At some point we crossed the continental divide, which I think we were in a tunnel when we did it, and when we came out the other side we were barreling down a mtn on like a 6 lane highway flying pass 18 wheelers, some 18 wheelers were flying pass us, which was a little nerve racking. This is when Chris points out the “Oh Sh1T!” ramps. At the bottom of every hill there’s a ramp jutting off to the side that goes straight up the mtn. It’s made out of heavy gravel so when trucks find themselves out of control they can just take the ramp and the gravel bogs them down until they stop. One such ramp did have fresh ruts in the gravel. Sweet! I bet you that guy’s fingernails are still imbedded in the steering wheel.
So after an hour or so of flying through the mtns at 70 mph we reached Breckenridge and gave the green thunder some rest. We walked around, had some Buffalo burgers, checked out some interesting souvenir shops, and visited the “Fearless beaver” ….they didn’t sell cougar vibrator scrapers….huh? …..Now it was time to ascend a little closer to heaven so I could live my dream.
We reached the top of the pass at 12,000 ft. We walked around a little, checked out a cabin that’s available to rent for those idiots that like to snow board on top of mtns during blizzards and stuff, and then we found a little bluff sticking out the side of the mtn that was just perfect for peeing off of. I couldn't wait. I was worried about stage fright, but nothing was stopping me today. As I gazed across the sky line admiring the mtn tops covered with snow I walked to the edge of the bluff and in an instant I was letting it go. (Shakespearian dontcha think?) Chris was like a professional photographer shooting Cajun’s in unnatural habitat for National Geographic. So I finished my business, looked around for a few minutes and then it was time to go. It was time to move on to our next adventure, which was an old road off of the pass road that we could see off in the distance going straight up the mtn to the snow line. As we walked back to the green thunder it started to rain, no big deal, I’m used to rain, except at 12,000 ft rain is cold. So now we’re running to green thunder and as we dive in Chris says. “Hey! It’s snowing.” I’m like, “What?” Chris says, “Look at your shirt.” So I look at my shirt and sure enough there are snowflakes on it. Cooooool!!
So we head back down the pass about a mile and find the road that we spotted from THE spot. Turns out it wasn’t exactly the interstate, but more like a jeep trail. Well, we gave it ****** in green thunder and made it about a hundred yards, but not having a 3 inch lift kit and all terrains we finally started sliding back down the mtn. That didn’t stop us though b/c we have feet. We parked the car an decided to walk to the snow line. We made it another hundred yards and WE started sliding backwards. So we didn’t quite make it to the snow line, but I did chunk a few rocks down the mtn just b/c I’m a boy and I had to. It’s in the rule book. Man law 144 to be exact.
So we’re now done with the mtn. Nothing left for me to accomplish. We can head back home now…..wait….something’s missing…….you know what?......WE HAVEN’T DRANK A BEER YET!! Get back to Breckenridge!! Quick!!
PSSSHHTT! Glug Glug! AAAAHHHHHhhhhhhh
Ok, NOW we can head back., maybe not right back, maybe we can stop in a few towns on the way home, you know, to freshen up.
Took us 1 ½ hours to get there, about 4 to get back to Chris’s house, of course about an hour of that was our last stop in Breckenridge.
So that was Day 3, except for hanging out on the patio putting a dent in the Bud Light when we finally got home.
Coming up next: Chapter IV - A day of rest….Kind of

“What?” Chris says, “Look at your shirt.” So I look at my shirt I was so waiting for Chris to flick your nose when you looked at your shirt. Fox Make sure on your tour that you stop in MT. Lotsa beer up here...and lotsa mountains to pee off of. We could use some help putting out the fires.

bump b/c Chrisner wasn't paying attention
and Sadmo, there wasn't any snow at 12,000 ft, but I spelled my name anyway, although I hadn't had a beer yet so I had to go with BO.

I have been bumped! I tried to sell the pics to the producers of “Cajuns Gone Wild” but they were not interested. They said peeing Cajuns are a dime a dozen. They wanted pictures of him in rapture at the opera or reading in a library or something like that. Colorado runaway truck ramps work better than this: A Really Stupid Truck Ramp I am sure BC is exaggerating regarding the amount of beer that was consumed but I can’t remember.

They have those 'ramps' in the Smokey Mountains, too. I've even seen them in low elevations, in places where there are sudden sharp declines. I've always wanted to drive up one of those, but feared I would be smashed by a runaway truck. I fear that dream will never be fulfilled.

What's Up Peoples!!
I'm still alive, Chrisner's update inspired me to write my own, plus some big stuff's been happening so I figure now's a good time to check in.
Divorce is going according to schedule. I recently refinanced my house and pulled out an extra 5 grand to offer STBX. Mader her a formal offer through my A and she imediately accepted. Waiting for my A to get through with a trial so we can make it all official and that will take care of community property, which is all that's left to take care of. Now we will simply be waiting for Apr 08 to get here so the judge can bang the gavel and get this crap over with.
I also recently bought a new truck. My 10 year old Ford with 216,000 miles on it was just about done. So as soon as the refinance was done I ran to the GMC dealership, which my neighbor works at, and got a steal of deal on a 08 crew cab 5.3l v8 with 20in tires and a 373 rear end. Got a better trade in than my truck was worth and picked up an 08 for an 07 price.
On top of that my house note went down $80 a month with the refi. Good things do happen when you're patient.
My life is better than I ever thought possible. No drama, better off financially, and me and DS are having a blast.
He's coming through this like a real champ. That kid never stops amazing me. We've been riding in the boat, fishing, going to fairs, playing baseball, going to the camp, building fires, riding bikes, riding the 4-wheeler, etc. etc. etc. There's never a dull moment and we're always having fun. I've never had this much energy and I've never been this optimistic about the future.
It's crazy, but this is the happiest I think I've ever been in my life. It's one of the reasons I don't hang around here much anymore. I'm moving on and really enjoying life. The other reason is work is still quite busy and I barely find enough time to lurk.
I still keep up with a few threads though, waiting to see the outcomes of a few people.
So hopefully some comfort for those still in the trenches. Be patient, do it right, and regardless of the outcome there will be no regrets and you will find peace and happiness.
STBX Update: She's still with OM2 and going strong. She's been making an effort with DS who was unsure about it at first, but now seems to finally embrace it. So they are starting to repair the damage their relationship has suffered. She still has a long way to go, but has made noticeable progress and I am appreciative of that. I still have him about 60% of the time so there's still alot of can you watch him so I can do what I want, but that's fine with me. I can't stand to be away from him so it's just more time we get to spend together.
The only contact I have with her is on Sun exchanges in which we usually have a little meeting to discuss DS issues with school, potty training, etc. Coparenting is working well so far.
So i guess that's about it for now. I'm gonna finsh my work and get out of here. Gotta get DS so we can get some baseball in before dark.
Hope everybody is doing well.

Oh shoot. I was going 2 ask you if you wanted 2 by my 1960 VW Singlecab pickup!
It's a rusty thrasher, but it's been paid for longer than I've owned it. And the bed is 5' by 8.5' and perfectly flat. Plus, the sides fold down, so it's easy 2 load couches and stuff.
Make a helluva deal on it for ya!

New Years Update
Been seeing some of my peoples threads talking about waywards suddely making contact.
Well, I've caught wind that STBX and OM2 are done, now I've gotten 2 emails from STBX in a weeks time. Nothing about us, just stupid stuff just to make contact. I'm not in Plan B or anything, but STBX hasn't made contact outside of co-parenting or needing something since Plan FU.
Interesting isn't it
Have noticed it's been happening around the holidays for everybody. Guess even waywards can't avoid triggers from their own mess.
I myself have done some triggering over the holidays. Haven't missed STBX in the least, but the trauma and pain have crept back in a few times until I recognized it and let it go. I didn't think I was gonna trigger, but I guess there's no escaping it. Remember, my DDay was 2 days before Christmas last year. I knew it was a possibility and I thought I was prepared, then I would find myself not acting right, being a little down, irritable, not knowing why, then blam!!, slap on the forehead, duuuhhhhhh!!
so I've gotten to where I recognize it better and dismiss it imediately, plus the holidays are done and I'm not feelin the triggers anymore, although I'm on alert with recent events.
Other than that, everything's going just fine, still moving on, creating new memories, all that good stuff.
Hoping for a Happy and Peaceful New Year for all us BS's
