Hey, Bob, I signed in and tried to introduce myself but got this message: "Your account has been activated but you are currently in the moderation queue to be added to the forum."
So I'll just lurk over there and post when I can.
Thanks for the link.

I CANNOT understand how it got turned into something about salvation, Christianity, even comments about the RCC.

MarriedForever - with all sincere respect, "it got turned into something about salvation" because Tucktummy raised the issue of "where" this poor young girl might be now that she has been killed and that it might be even more "disturbing" than the brutality of her death. The question about "where we go after death" is a relevant discussion topic, especially with "heaven or he11" having been brought up.

Christianity teaches and believes that there is one way, and only one way, for people to be saved. If that is "unsettling" for you so that you feel a need to attack me for having an opinion on that subject, then feel free to do so.

As for the mention of the RCC, that was in a post directed specifically to MEDC, who has his own "jihad" against the RCC on the issue of abuses by, and was made to relate the discussion to what he is familiar with.

.I and most others can actually hold a discussion without quoting Scripture... we take what we have learned < SNIP> we don't need to be a textbook junkie to prove we are in fact intelligent.

I don't see FH's quoting Scripture as an attempt to prove he's intelligent.

I see it for what he says it is, a trust in the Word of God

My opinion is based on faith FH.... you remember that right... it is also based on what I have learned in Church (remember that FH, fellowship with other believers!).. and it is based on the feelings and thoughts that the Living God has put into my heart and mind.
.

What do you have faith in, MEDC?

You are entitled to that view... I see FH completely differntly. I will leave the discussion at that.

As far as my faith... I am a Christian...so I have faith in Christ. I also have faith the Lord would not damn a little girl to ****** if she has not had a true chance to accept Him. As far as anything else Marsh...I will be happy to discuss this with you off board.

Of course I am.

I know you do. I was just sharing what I see.

Yes, but, you wouldn't know about Christ apart from the Bible.

FH's authority is the Bible, and the Bible alone.

His interpretation of the Bible may or may not be correct, but he is willing to examine any verse that may contradict his interpretation from any one on this board.

Which is completely consistent w/ his belief system.

Others have a different authority.

You said "the feelings and thoughts that God gives you" are part of what you base your faith on. So, they are part of your authority...as is what your church taught you, and I'm willing to bet, some of your authority also comes from the Bible.

So, you can see how when you have a different authority, you will get a different belief system.

And that's what this is.

A different belief system.

Marsh...I don't care to debate or discuss my thoughts regarding FH. I am not asking you to change your opinions of him and I feel my thoughts are well grounded in reality(and considering there are a lot of other Christians and non-Christians here that FH has rubbed the same way, I feel safe in my thinking that the problem lies with his approach and not my interpretation). Marsh, the opinion that I have regarding his approach to things has been formulated after several years of trying to interact with the man on a different level. While I always appreciate hearing from you, what you see in my dealings with FH is really not of interest to me at this time. Thanks for your input though.
