Okay here is the frustrating bit. DHL will let that package sit in Guadalajara and rot until somebody calls them and says that they will pay the customs. DHL will not deliver it to the local office and then call the recipient advising that customs are owed and give delivery on payment. Mexico doesn't work that way. So if you don't know you are receiving a package, you wouldn't know to call. And I paid 400 riyals for this service!

I did that last night. DD1's GBA battery exploded so they have been living with 2 GBA's among three little girls for a couple of weeks. You can imagine. Not pretty. So I told WW that I had sent GBA batteries (which are really inside the pocketbook BTW) so she is highly motivated to get the thing cleared.
I see now that it has reached its final airport.
It's all delivery truck from here.
