Chai, if you're like me, you'll surprise yourself with what you once thought you couldn't do...and now can!
if you're like me, you'll come to a point where you say to yourself "I'm not afraid anymore".
if you're like me, you will find yourself saying "what does Chai want?" "what are Chai's needs?" for the first time in your life.
Plan B can be empowering. find yourself...

CGW,
You are exactly right!! I found out that I can do a lot of things!!
My friends came to help me paint, and we had a great time. We called it "three girls and a spoon" day. The only tool we had to work with was a spoon. You wouldn't believe what we accomplished with the spoon. Used it as a screwdriver, paint can opener, pry bar, and putty knife. We were pretty proud of ourselves.
And, I did a pink room. Yep, making it a girlie place all right.
So, had a great time painting and cleaning. I haven't even thought too much about WH. I guess I've been too busy and too tired.
Anyway, love the new place but have had a few hiccups. The garage door opener remote doesn't work, the garbage disposer worked once then quit, and I got in the whirlpool tub and turned it on and a bunch of garbage came out of the jets (looked like chopped up salad). Totally disgusting.
Oh well, it gave us something to laugh about. Looks like I have a few repairs to do.
No tears in the last 5 days. Either the AD's are working or Plan B is working.

12/25/06 - Dday - WH promised NC. Plan A in effect. Thought we were in recovery.
6-3-07 - Dday#2 Found out NC never took place and A never ended. Found MB NC promised again, but WH would not write NC letter.
9/07 - Dday #3. Still lying and sneaking around. Plan B implemented WH wants nothing to do with me

about your spa tub - my neighbor has this same problem. Brand new house, brand new tub. it was fine for the first few months, then she started having "stuff" coming out of the jets. She called in the warranty people, and it turns out that this is most likely from the use of bath oils in the tub. She filled the tub with hot water, added bleach, and then ran the jets for about an hour. the tub is fine now. She was told that she will need to do this from time to time, if she is going to use bath oils. She plans to continue using her oils.
I don;t know how much bleach you will need to use, or how often, so I suggest calling some sort of spa place for advice.
keep up the good work.

And for the garbage disposal, be sure it is off, stick a broom handle in it and turn the blades. Then stick your hand in it and make sure there isn't a piece of glass or metal stuck in it. When the blades turn freely, push the reset button on the bottom of the disposal.
For the garage door opener, check the batteries, be sure the garage door opens without it, be sure the photo eye isn't blocked, and if it still doesn't open, reprogram per its instructions.
Hope you are enjoying your new place.

WoF5 and Believer,
You girls rock!!!! I guess this is what happens to us girls when a man isn't around - we learn to do it ourselves!!!! You may have just saved me two service calls.
I'll get on these things tonight and see if I can get them going again. The garage door opens when I hit the button inside the garage, but the remote doesn't work. I have to get out, go in the house and open it from there, then go back, get in the car and drive it in. Bummer.
I let the tub run for a long time last night, but gunk is still coming out. Not as much, but I'll try the bleach tonight.
As for the garbage disposer, I will do what you said Believer. I was going to go buy a new one, but maybe I can get it going again.
Thanks guys!!! I'm really getting into painting, cleaning and decorating. I'm taking advantage of the "up time" while it lasts.

When the blades turn freely, push the reset button on the bottom of the disposal. I was having dinner with a couple of friends one night and they were complaining about how their garbage disposal "just quit working"! I offered to take a look and did all of the above. Then I got behind the disposal... and it was unplugged. Her husband had knocked it loose moving things around under the sink. Boy were they embarrassed. We had a great laugh.

Be careful sticking your hand in that disposal! Unplug it first...
My jacuzzi did the same thing when we first moved in...I ran about 10 tubs full of hot bleach water through it before it was usable..Seems like I used about 2 cups of bleach per full tub of water....ran for 30 minutes or so and then drained it and started all over again.
Glad you are enjoying that new home!

Bwahahaha!!!!!
Sounds like you are doing fine. Now on to the hot tub......
I didn't have a different home to fix up, but I did a lot of work in the old one. It kept me centered and REALLY helped my self-esteem, which was pretty much in the toilet.

You know, I feel the same. I've found that I can do things on my own, and I feel good about it.
I'm not sure what happened last Sunday, but I think it was a combination of WH telling me he didn't want to be married, and getting out of that dark, isolated house.
Although I didn't want to hear what he said, in a way it gave me something to go on. The last 9 months have been filled with him saying he wanted the M but always lying and maintaining contact with OW. Maybe I felt like I didn't have to wonder anymore.
Anyway, my new place is bright, airy, and very comfortable. Now then, I realize that I could go down the tubes any day, but so far I'm doing well and having fun.
On to the whirlpool..... (May not be so lucky with the remote door opener though).

YOur husband sounds like my ex. He NEVER said he didn't want to be married, he just kept on cheating. But when the affair was over, back he came. The affair WILL end, and he will be back. You are doing good to take care of yourself and start on a new life.

Hi Ace,
Waiting right now for my furniture to come. I've cleaned everything (including carpets) and painted most everything that I wanted to paint, so now I'm ready for furniture.
Disposer works, whirlpool tub is clean (finally no more garbage), but remote garage door opener still doesn't work. I'm going to try one more thing on that. My car has 3 little buttons that are supposed to communicate with the opener, so I have to dig the manual out later today to see if I can make it work that way.
I'm doing much better than I thought. Keeping busy is probably helping me keep my mind off things. I have no idea where WH has gone. No forwarding address. I guess he is travelling and living on the road or travelling with OW. My atty has forwarded LSA via email but he has given no feedback as far as I know. I expect him to come back with D. I just don't have a good feeling about being able to recover.
Anyway, will spend T-day with my elderly mother. I hope that you have a wonderful day tomorrow with your DH and family. I will be thinking about you and all the others here on MB who have helped me through this crisis.
Will check back in after I get some furniture! Standing at the kitchen counter ti use my laptop is getting old.....
