I've seen other forums that have a penalty box.

If you break the rules, a mod puts you in "time out".

The offender is only allowed to post in the penalty area/time out area of the forum for a cool off period of time determined by the moderator. <img src="/ubbt/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'm coming 2 realize, as I watch the pace at which offensive threads are edited, that the mod is (there's only one I'm aware of) simply overwhelmed.

Of course, the "tone" of the board, such as there may or may not BE one, may end up being decided by the cumulative size/frequency distribution of posts (on log/log graph paper) and the content therein.

I don't like the "tone" I'm feeling these days. I could put people on ignore, I suppose, but the times I've done that, I've not seen all of some of the threads I've participated in with the ignorees, which makes reading threads kinda weird.

And sometimes the ignorees have surprised me with really insightful posts.

I'm either going 2 have 2 decide 2 contribute 2 positivity if I can, or accept that I'm not in this particular "surviving infidelity place" anymore, and go elsewhere for the depth of conversation I once got here.
