I bet the reason kids like fresh veggies straight from the garden is because they have so many more nutrients. I used to think that kids would eat whatever their bodies needed as long as you don't let them get addicted to sugar, grease, fat, salt, etc. Too bad we don't live by ourselves in a cabin way far away from modern food!

That's a great idea about the stromboli! I'm always looking for more things to do with my bread. I use sourdough starter, I have about 5 different kinds (depending on whether the 5th is really different, or if it's a mixture of two others). If I don't use it I have to pour some of it down the drain and I hate doing that.

So far I make french bread (loafs and baguettes), flax seed whole wheat bread (loafs and buns/rolls), coffeecake, muffins... H and I and the kids all make pizza together (the kids make their own personal size pizzas) so they would probably like making their own stromboli. On the weekends H makes pancakes after I mix up the sourdough starter. We've tried English muffins, pita bread, donuts and noodles - but not very successfully. :P
