Adultery is a sin period. Just like any other sin period. Until there is sincere repentance no church should tolerate sin of any kind. Perhaps I have misunderstood your comment about "a change for the better" but our churches should not conform to society which now says that adultery is an acceptable human weakness just like homosexuality is an alternate lifestyle. Our churches can educate and provide counseling but they cannot tolerate or adultery will become more prevalent than it is today.

No, not necessarily.

Most of the kid-touching is done by the higher-ups in the church...not the legions of followers who continue to support them financially and otherwise.
