Good evening ladies. I have a ZTR mower and love it too. One of those purchases I appreciate my WH making. Now that I am on my own with the yard, it makes the job much faster, since we have about 2 acres of mowing. I recently had to change the mower drive belt, though. It got tangled up with a tree branch and FLEW off the mower in shreds. I changed it and was back in business. Just took three hours of scratching my head until I realized I had to take the deck off in order to install the new belt. It was an AHA and DUH moment all at once. My sister and I are working to hit a groove with cohabitation. So far, bumpy, but good. She also has styled my hair twice, colored with professional stuff this past weekend. It looks nice. I plan on growing out the hair to shoulder length, keeping some sideswept and lotsa layers. SHe is going to do what they call colorblocking on it, too. It's basically differing levels of the same color, dark to light from bottom to top with lowlights. We're going to wait until the fall, since I'm in the pool and outside so much, it would just wash out and become sun bleached. The funeral for my UncleB was good; what a diamond that man was. His legacy is one of love and light. Priceless. His daughters (whom he lovingly called one two three and four by birth order) spoke about making sure you really practice LOVING and GIVING. They also said their dad taught them to do all they could, to not quit, and to give love as UNCONDITIONALLY as possible. Truly a good man. I had a chance to see some of my counsins that I have not in over a decade. DS got to meet his second cousins and great aunts and uncles. It was good to reconnect to my family, my roots. I'm exhausted, but happy that we made the trip. Good to see the Goddess thread up tonight. Have a good one, ladies.

Sorry for the losses, ladies.
BTW, would you keep Kayla Nunn in your prayers. She is the 9yo niece of a friend. She has many developmental and health issues. She is immunosuppressed and has either Lyme's Disease or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Yesterday afternoon, she had a seizure and they rushed her to the hospital where they had to revive her before transferring her to a bigger hospital that could deal w/ her needs better.

You've got to be kidding, SL..LOL..You talk about this like it's SIMPLE...and I'm sitting here thinking, "What the HECK is a DECK of a MOWER..a ZTR MOWER at THAT...What'd you do just SNAP the NEW BELT in..did you have to put it through any LOOPS... ?????
I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

What'd you do just SNAP the NEW BELT in..did you have to put it through any LOOPS... ????? BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!! Well, there are PULLEYS that the belt has to be LOOPED around. I suppose you could take a huge leap and think of it in terms of fashion, threading the belt back on the mower to show how slim it's waist is. I've worked on our mowers since I moved into this house, nearly 15 years ago. I also got the pool up and running, with help from PWC. I changed the oil in my car last weekend, before travelling to the funeral in Tenn. I can rotate my tires and flush and fill the coolant, if necessary. I can change a tire, when necessary. I helped PWC install our fencing by digging the 4ft deep holes with the giant auger. I drive like a bat outta H E Double Hockey sticks, but as safely as possible (bats are precision flyer's doncha know :/). I do all the yard maintenance now, mowing, weed whacking, weeding the gardens. It's not perfect; I'm just trying to keep up this year. I also helped to demo a great deal of the walls in this house and re-drywall, paint, decorate. I helped demo and renovate the bathroom. I've laid laminate flooring once or twice. I've helped hang new doors. There's more, I'm sure. Hmmmm, I've done a lot round these parts. I'm not ALL tomboy, though. I really enjoy clothes now, and playing with my hair and working with makeup to find that fresh look. It's fun to be girly, too. I'm a real catch!

Dress code for 5 pm wedding? Bride is a very avant garde 20 something woman. Her second wedding.
Is my black silk top w/ white and silver beading and my black silk skirt too - - too black - - too dressy? It's a gorgeous outfit.

I can't see a problem with that. I would keep the hair simple, though. No updo's or anything fancy. Keep the jewelry simple too. Most of all, have fun.

Ok....I can do that.....I was planning on hair down although it is not the best choice with the neckline of this dress. People are used to seeing me wear it up....... hair up in usual manner ...but I don't usually wear jewels from Tiffany's

It was a wonderful wedding. The only times I've ever cried at a wedding was when they dredged up my own issues.
This evening, though, I cried. It was so touching.
Amie has a 4-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. Andrew has never been married before. That they love each other was so obvious. My eyes started leaking before they got to the vows - nothing from the Book of Common Prayer. When Andrew got down on his knees to talk to Emma and promise her that he would love her always and that he would always be there for her, they leaked even more. By the time the minister started telling Andrew that Amie had no greater gift that she could give him than to give herself, to trust him totally, and to trust him with her daughter, that was it....I think half the people there had leaky eyes. (And, he did say the same stuff to Amie about Andrew giving himself to her.)
The reception was something else. 3 hours of rockabilly. When was the last time you heard "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels" at a wedding reception? The music was incredible.

who knows....it was very interesting how many people on the dance floor were women. almost no men. the groom danced a few w/ Amie or her daughter. The brides's dad danced a few. The husband of one sister. And one other man. That was about it.
Queenie would have loved it.....they did play Little Queenie.

Peeps! I found something I sort of wanted to do Sunday evening.
x is going to "shove ol'shoes" to get the teenagers home from Ohio in time for the three of us (2 teens and me) to go to a Ringo Starr concert!
I had pretty much decided to go even if they couldn't. Now, if I can just get cheap tickets. The spread is $39-$350.

I called. I went on line. I can't afford 3 tickets at $70 or more. I would have done the $40 ones. So, no concert. We can buy a lot of CDs for that money. Used CDs are a good thing.
