medc, do you believe you are condemned to he11 because Muslims say so?

You are telling me to go to h311 because I am not Christian. Then you are justifying that it is ok to tell me this because since I am not Christian, I don't believe in h311. You are neglecting the fact that many other religions believe in the existance of h31l. Non-Christians don't want to go to h311 any more than Christians do. It is still an insult to say that to someone.

I have never told you to go to he11. The Bible says that unbelievers will go to he11 if they REJECT Jesus Christ. Your beef is not with Christians, but with GOD and his holy WORD.

Are you saying you BELIEVE the Word of God?

no, BUT, I would be offended if a Muslim said that to me.

Personally, if I don't believe something, my reaction is not to get insulted, but rather to reject it and move on. I could not care less that Islam holds I am damned to he11. They are entitled to their wrong belief. I don't believe anything they say, so why I would I even care? Why would I care enough to get worked up over something that is meaningless to me?

You know what I would be more upset about if I were a non believer? IF IT WERE TRUE! I would be very upset wondering about that if I were an unbeliever. I wouldn't be sitting around being offended, I would be wondering if it is TRUE.

At least I hope so to the cooking of dinner that is. The WINE, non issue, right Mimi?

That sounds wonderful. My mouth is watering. Will you light the candles? Do you have someone who will recite Kiddush? Maybe you can squeeze the juice from some grapes in place of the wine. smile

I think it will be.

I will light candles and I will say kiddush as I will be the only one who knows it. smile Ah, good ole Kedem makes kosher grape juice. Very expensive though.

Thanks, Lake....

I'll keep you posted on how I do.

SL, I fully agree that this forum is for everyone, regardless of their religious background, however, what you just said is an outright rejection of Christianity. The foundation of Christianity is the acceptance that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. Are you saying that we have to accept "lots of other religions and belief systems" but deny Christians the same opportunity by denying the very foundation of Christianity? Because, as a Christian, I am just not willing to do that.

I don't believe that Christians are "shortsighted" just because they happen believe in the tenets of Christianity. I may be a stupid woman, but I am not shortsighted.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Wasn't the point in the above quote that the Christians (whoever this is about) were saying that no one else will go to heaven since they don't believe 'the Christian way?' In other words, that the billions of Muslems and Jews and Hindus, etc. will not be (and have not been) given entry into heaven, simply because the Christians in question are saying that their way is the 'only' way? That's just not logical, nor is it conducive to what I believe are Christian values. So, if the Muslems believe that only Muslems will go to heaven, is only one of the groups right? Everyone else is deluded?

catperson, here are Christian VALUES and is what the Bible says:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

This thread is really getting out of hand. It makes no sense at all to keep this going. People have a right to believe as they choose to. A lot of people don't give a rats behind what the Bible says...and that is fine. I don't spend any time worrying that Muslim's might be right....nor should they worry about me being right.

This thread was started because someone on another thread dared to say that a non Christian could not forgive or recover their marriage. Let's not start debating things that will only result in more division.
