I have never used Yahoo FF. Last year I had a couple of teams on ESPN FF.
GO Bucs!!! Even if we didn't get Favre.

But seriously.. all season long, the sunday afternoon/evening ritual is a football party at my house (at least now that it's MY house.. WW wouldn't let me have many friends over at once.. hated helping to clean up when it was just us.. nevermind a bunch of folks yellin at my TV ).. and it is, as always KID FRIENDLY at my house. Sounds just like my house every Sunday! We always have people pile over and cook up lots of food. The only thing I don't like is that sometimes it gets expensive playing "host" every weekend. Thankfully some of our friends are considerate enough to bring side dishes and snacks over too and that helps a bit... Cleaning up is worth it if you've had a good time, in my book And if there's kiddos around, it stays PG. Sometimes there is, sometimes there isn't. We also have a big screen TV. H wanted it. I really thought that spending 3K (between the TV, the new stand we had to buy for it, and new cables and stuff) for a TV was a little ridiculous... but eventually I caved because I knew he'd really love it and we did have the money to pay for it.. And I can honestly say I would have never thought it would make a big difference to me... but it does. I really enjoy watching it, especially movies and FOOTBALL! Yeah, after you guys lost that game... I had made a sign to take the to game... and I was holding it up near one of the banisters and cheering, and some Indy fan came up and punched my sign from behind and it ripped in half I didn't even see him coming... Lots of them were yelling at us too. I'm all about friendly rivalries... its great to rag on another team... but its all about fun. Punching someone else's sign and yelling AT THEM is not fun to me. But, picking on their team is I live in Pgh, where it is ABSURD to hear of someone NOT being a Steelers fan, so I don't have anyone that I know well that is anything BUT a Steelers fan. First pre-season tonight vs. the Eagles. I hate the pre-season though. Usually don't pay much attention to those games. Sunday Nov. 9th-- eh? You guys come to OUR TOWN. Good luck, you'll need it ;)-- you can come visit and cry on our shoulders if you'd like E.

We wait for others to join and have our draft day.
I haven't looked to closely yet but you can usually rank the players so that you have a better chance to get the players you want. Others just go with the automatic system. It randomly selects the draft order and gives the best player still avaliable.

You will have more players on your team than you can play. You pick the players that you think will give you the highest score. Remember to keep an eye on who is playing who in real life, who is hurt, and if the player has a bye that week.

How nice....
Believe it or not, I don't pray asking for patience.

Yeah but this can be a fun thing to practice patience on. We have a family league on ESPN where even the kids have a team. Last year our DS won. He beat mom 202 to 181 in the final.

Wow.. BH.. thanks for helping Queenie out over the weekend.. I was out busy getting sunburnt with the kids.
Yes.. now that we have enough people in the league I can go in today and get draft day set up.
Does anyone have a problem with using the 27th as our draft day? It will give others a chance to join the party, and also give us some time to make roster moves if we're unhappy with our draft after the fact.
Automatic drafts and rankings can be a little tricky until you go through it once and figure it out, though the rankings on Yahoo aren't too bad.. There are several I'd argue with but they aren't too far off. Personally though, I plan to rank my top 100 or so and then let the draft go.
If it's league consensus though I'll try to find a time where we can all be available for a live(online) draft. I'd honestly prefer to do it that way, but was trying to be conscious of the fact that some people work weekends, and the different time zones into account.
Queenie.. my best advice for new FF players is to remember that you're playing for points.. teams created on sentimental value rarely do well, as you're looking to get the best production out of your guys. For example.. I LOOOOVE me some Marvin Harrison, and he'll probably put up some respectable numbers this year.. however he's not going to be the monster FF player he used to be due to the offense he's in having so many viable targets... You might land the best tight end in the NFL, but if he's primarily a blocker rather than a receiver, or just doesn't get that many looks he won't do you much good. Running backs traditionally score you the most points, and the rankings seem to reflect that, however there's been a shift towards the 'committe' RB systems in the past few years I don't think the rankings have reflected as accurately as they could. It goes without saying though that the QB position is a big points player too.. as is finding a kicker with a team that struggles in the Red Zone and kicks a lot of FG's rather than extra points. Your guy in Washington should be good for that... I kid I kid..
Just some things to keep in mind.
