If it wasn't for that want, that need that is embedded in all of us, I think I could stay single forever.

Yup, I feel that, too. It's bothersome when the want to be connected with another man drifts in and out, because I'm not even divorced, much less ready to date. For the most part, I feel content. I also have no regrets, which is nice.

I agree, you got the better deal. You got DS, you got the golf course, and contentment, sanity, and integrity. Sounds good to me.

Hey BC!

Great to hear from you. You do sound well.

Sounds like you have the perfect plan for your summer! Lots of Golf, no dating. Not a bad way to go.

Even after that I won't be ACTIVELY looking for it, but I'll welcome the right oppertunity.

I'm with you here. I read what you posted to Fox's thread and it sounds like you went through enough with your first venture out into the dating world.

Geez,,,,,I never thought I'd feel so CLUELESS when it comes to the whole idea of dating. Although I wouldn't wish this on anyone, I am sure glad there's several of us around here that are more or less in the same place. Nice to know I'm not completely psycho in my thinking!

BTW - it's nice to see you posting on other threads. You are a great help when you do.

Hey,,,,,,,,,I almost forgot. I edited a post on my thread about this a while back but I think you missed it. I was in the grocery store the other day and walked by the book rack. I like to read when I travel, and as I read a bit fast, I go through a book a trip, so I'm always on the look out for something I haven't read or a new author to try.

So, I start to puruse the shelves. I spy something right at eye level, as the picture and title caught my eye.

I have to ask if you have been acting as some female author's muse? The title of the book was -

Tall, Dark and Cajun!

As Rin would say, LMAO!!!!

I checked out some reviews on the book in question. Turns out it's based in my home town and there's a character named Beau. I definately wasn't the inspiration though, since I've never thought mullets were cool.

Specifically Bayou Black

Don't know too many people from Bayou Black with your maiden name, so doubt if you're in it

Also read an article about your family being rejected by the federal gov't for Indian status. So doesn't look like any Casino royalty checks are in your future. cry

Maybe you can help them get their paper work straight.

Oh, and the proper spelling is couillion

Peace, Mon T-Sabine grin

No, not familiar with OP in that area...

Darn the bad luck on the checks! crazy

Do you know how long we have been fighting that? I don't ever see it happening, thankfully enough we are state recognized! Speaking of, I need to check into some scholarships in that department.

I buried my weenie dog Dixie this morning. She's spent the last 6 months at EXWW's house. She was going down fast and EXWW wanted some time with her before she passed. She was just shy of 14 years. EXWW thought she should be buried here at my house, so I put her in the back yard and made a little headstone out of a piece of damaged fence panel from the storm.

She was our first child. We got her a few months after our marriage. She was the first grandchild too and was spoiled rotten by all. She was a very good dog. The neighborhood adopted her, I never locked her up, she ran freely, she never bothered any body. Almost everytime we're having a nighborhood pow wow in somebody's driveway she's brought up. She provided us with a lot of laughs. Even the Youngsville police loved her and killed themselves laughing every time she took 10 minutes to cross the street in front of their patrol cars. She was rather slow in her old age. She was a good natured dog, but ruled the roost none the less. She moved for no one. Man, beast, and machinery were to go around her or wait for her to pass, PERIOD! The nieghborhood named her Queen Bee amongst her other many nicknames. All she ever wanted in this world was a warm lap, and she never had trouble finding one.

She died of old age and without a single enemy.

Not bad

RIP Dixie

They can be good friends. They never cheat on you either.

We went through that with 3-dogs and 4-cats over the 26 years we were married.

I will toast Dixie tonight after basketball.

my sister has a mini dachshund named Penelope (penny/pen/pbitty, etc. to her buds). She's fricken adorable. She also moves for no man or machinery. It must be a breed thing.

I'll hoist one to your Queen Bee.

Bullchit! That dog was loyal to a warm lap and a treat, didn't matter where she got it. If she had a middle finger I would have gotten it 10 times a day. rotflmao

I'm J/J of course. at the end of the day, she wanted daddy. She slept up my butt for 10 years.

There's one that lives in the house behind mine. Sometimes the people go away for the day and leave the dog outside. Maybe they're gone longer than that. I'm not sure. Regardless, the dog will bark All. Day. Long. Once I looked down into the yard after the dog had been barking for, like, five hours, and the dog was still going back and forth between doors and jumping up at the sliding glass door. Persistent.

Sorry for your loss, though. I'll drink a Bud Light for her.

Considering the dog is of German heritage, shouldn't you be drinking a Marzen?

Nah, she watched me drink bud light for 12 years. She wouldn't want us drinkin anything else. I had about 6 with the neighbors and evacuees, so we sent her off just like she wanted.

Oh, no, no, no. Only Jaegermeister will do in this case. If you don't have it, just substitute NyQuil.
